  1. I'm with OrGaN_ShIfTeR. Maybe you'd be better searching Google on this one.
  2. I'm likin the speeds dude. I'm interested in takin a look at the network speeds there after the upgrade. I was wondering if you could do something for me: -start this download (it's just a dummy file): http://test.tampabay.rr.com/http.50m.sav -then run a traceroute from CMD while its downloading: -start, run, CMD -tracert test.tampabay.rr.com Post back your trace.
  3. I mainly use these books as reference for all my certification needs: http://www.examcram2.com/ These books are great as a guide. If you need more detailed info on a specific subject, google the subject (there's so much out there), or use wikipedia.org -- there's some very detailed and accurate info there.
  4. Welcome, pheoxs, to our humble forum. Start with this: http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-2097

  6. from the command prompt, type IPCONFIG and hit enter. If the IP address is 169.254.x.x, type IPCONFIG/RENEW. If you do not get a valid IP back, it will give you a specific error as to why (eg. "an error occurred while renewing interface local area connection: unable to contact DHCP error. Request has timed out"). Post that exact error back so that we can help further. Have you tried bypassing the router to connect directly to the modem?
  7. Check this out: http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-6025 Ask me if you have any questions.
  8. It was probably due to the stratified matrix of petroleum-based fibers I had been experimenting with. I was attempting to eliminate chafing against my hyper-sensitive epidermis, while retaining maximum flexibility and strength in suspending my trousers. Mlahoiven.
  9. This one time at our weekly D&D convention, I was presenting my latest blueprint for the gigafied duplex reactor, when all of my writing utensils fell out of my pencil case and scattered across the floor. As I bent over to gather them, my scientific graphing calculator escaped from my shirt pocket, smashing me in the face, and destroying my glasses! If that wasn't bad enough, my suspenders spontaneously combusted, and I ran out of the room, right into the shower in the locker room to extinguish the flames. Turns out, the rugby team was just finishing practice. 3 hours later when I finally unhooked my underpants from the uprights on the playing field, I went home and relaxed by playing Legend of the Green Dragon for 14 hours straight.
  10. I'm with ya there, man. How it got from the pinnacle events of the Christian faith, to a bunny hiding chocolate eggs...well, as you put it, it's beyond me. I do celebrate Easter in the classic sense, witness to the life, death, and rebirth of Christ...but I also enjoy the lighter side of the holiday. It's a great chance to visit family, and to set aside all the mundanity for a few short days. Happy Easter everyone!

  12. Welcome, Mystik_MDS. Can you post a ping and traceroute to testmy.net? From the command prompt: ping -n 10 www.testmy.net tracert www.testmy.net
  13. Try testing at a couple of mirrors: http://www.testmy.net/tools/mirrors.php
  14. Hey Noobz, welcome to the forum. Please start here: http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-2097 Can you provide us with some more information, so that we can help you as best we can? What are your advertised speeds? What software do you have running? Have you scanned for viruses/spyware, and if so, with what programs? Have you tried tweaking? Do you think Dr. Phil is full of it? Ok, post up.
  15. I agree with you Cholla. Imagine if the money spent in the race to build the biggest bomb had been spent on more constructive things. Humantarian things, medical, scientific, astronomical, industrial, technological, etc. I get so frustrated sometimes when I think about how infatuated we so easily become with destruction. But then, so they build it, and then there it sits. It's like building the biggest, baddest muscle car, but never taking it to the strip...you just have it to say you have it, to show off. It's a waste of resource and effort that could have been better spent on something more practical, something rewarding. I will admit, the devestation that bomb is capable of scares the hell out of me. Just imagine how many lives could be ended in an instant.
  16. LOL yeah. U.S. got gypped on that one.
  17. Why don't you just re-download them?
  18. You mean Nuuk? I dunno...seems like a whole lot of the same vowel all next to each other and stuff...
  19. Yeah, there's cities and stuff there--well, probably no more than towns--none of which can be pronounced by my tongue. I wonder what they do for fun? I'm afraid to guess... arable land: 0% permanent crops: 0% "flat to gradually sloping icecap covers all but a narrow, mountainous, barren, rocky coast" "continuous permafrost over northern two-thirds of the island" ...think they have Internet? I didn't realize that it is a Danish colony. http://www.indexmundi.com/greenland/dependency_status.html Here's a link to some pics: http://www.cs.washington.edu/research/imagedatabase/groundtruth/greenland/ (warning: turns out some of these are pretty gross....animals being prepared for food) It's actually quite a beautiful place...in an preserved, isolated sort of way. Unscathed by the twisted hand of man, if you will; sanctified.
  20. Wait...there's people in Greenland?! Sidenote: Greenland is mostly glacier...which is more white than green, to the best of my understanding. I wonder how it got its name? Kinda sarcastic if you ask me. I guess the name Iceland must have been already taken. Snowland...it just doesn't have the same ring. I would have called it Giant-Hunk-Of-Uninhabitable-Ice-In-The-Middle-Of-Freakin-Nowhere, but maybe that's just me. I suppose that's not very appealing to tourists...but Greenland? That's just misleading.
  21. ...and Canadians are Canucks! Hey Joe, meet ya fer a double-double down at Timmies. We'll grab up a two-four fer the road back, eh? Don't forget yer tuque, ya friggin newfie!
  22. Today's theme is about looking back on your life, realizing that you couldn't have lived it any other way, and being totally satisfied with yourself, here and now. Guilt is simply repressed anger, so don't let it control your decisions. Release your regret, forgive yourself and others, and be freed. 1L.
  23. LOL The OSI model is not brought up very frequently in most technical implementations. It is however good to learn to help you understand the concept of the levels of protocols, and their integration with media and applications and such.
  24. Cholla, I would just like to say the the idea of Canada joining the USA has become closer to a reality with the election of the Conservative Party leader, Stephen Harper, as Prime Minister. I would also like to say that I did not vote for him.
  25. Welcome to the forum, wak_wak. In XP, you can specify the paging file. Here's how: http://www.windowsnetworking.com/j_helmig/wxpvmem.htm Quote from http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308417 Also try this anti-malware scan: www.ewido.net/en/onlinescan
