  3. Hello, and welcome to the forum, chawanwat. No need to worry, you are forgiven for you ignorance. If you stick around long enough, you will become a master of Internet speed/connection. First stop, check out our Make It Faster sticky [LINK] and post back as much info as you can. It is important to know your advertised speeds in order to tweak your operating system properly, but if you have no means of finding out, I'm sure we can help you. Keep in mind that the host average is polled from all users of all speed packages of your ISP. Cheers, and happy tweaking.

  5. LOL. Did you check for spyware? It looks like you were better without tweaks, judging from test results. Open your cablenut adjuster, clear all values, save to registry and reboot.
  6. Bush is bad for America. The sooner the American people, the true soul of the country, not only realize this, but do something about it, the better off the country will be. No joke.
  7. Here is an online scan: [LINK] You'll need to shut down your firewall. Otherwise, you can find some great info on free software for download on our Make It Faster STICKY.
  8. Try a different cable b/w router and modem, and run another traceroute. As for firmware, I'd suggest using the latest version that's not beta. Just keep checking back until its out of beta, so all the bugs have been worked out.
  9. Dslnoob, got a router? If so, try a direct connection and test again.
  10. Here you go then: http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/WGT624v2.asp It has a few firmware versions.
  11. Yeah looks like that's all you gonna get, sadly....from tweaking anyway.
  12. Try a smaller test: [LINK]
  13. It's possible you can go back. Does the bottom label say a version number, ie. WGT624v2?
  14. This your router? lol Try visiting the support site and try the newest firmware.
  15. Download this software and run trace and ping from it. http://www.ks-soft.net/ip-tools.eng/
  16. Well, here, try another
  17. Try this line packet loss test: http://www.dslreports.com/tools
  18. Try this one on the same test. Just be sure to restart after saving to registry, and shut off firewall before testing.
  19. I couldn't find any support from Westell's site, or elsewhere for the model you have. Check to see if there is a reset button on the gateway, it's usually a pinhole.
  20. Hmmm...well be sure to shut off your firewall for testing purposes, and any toolbars/extensions. Try the file I have attached, and try this test: http://server1.testmy.net/d_load.php?ni=1&tt=1&s=1013&st=st&ta=&top=&nobar=1
  21. Firewall running? Try this test: http://server1.testmy.net/d_load.php?ni=1&tt=1&s=2992&st=st&ta=&top=&nobar=1
  22. Yeah just hit up the file I attached above. Sorry, i modified that after you posted.
  23. As long as the two NICs are bridged, and you have a crossover cable from the PC to the XBox, the setup should be just like a direct connection. I would double-check that you have a crossover cable, not straight through. On a straight-through, the colours of the wires are symetrical. On a crossover, they are not.
  24. good call on the netBIOS commands....try net view
