I've never used McAfee, but I've heard of it bogging down systems. Try disabling all the real-time protection and startup features, then restart your PC and retest. You can stick to updating and running the scans manually, that way you can free up some resources.

Can you provide a download test and traceroute with a direct connection?

Try this file, see if it works any better.

Hey PioneerCrazed...a few questions for ya: are you using the same cables as before? Have you tried another port on the router? Are you NIC drivers updated? Is your NIC set to auto or 100base/full duplex? Have you tried powercycling? Can you provide a traceroute? I think we may be able to help you

Perfect. Save the .ccs file I have attached to your desktop. Once you have cablenut downloaded and installed on you system, open the .ccs file, click save to registry, and reboot your PC.

You'd want to get an antivirus, you can find links to free ones in the sticky. For cablenut, get the program here: www.cablenut.com Then open the zip file you specified, or version 8, and extract the .ccs file that is closest to your connection speeds to the desktop. With the cablenut adjuster window open, open the .ccs file, click save to registry, reboot PC and retest.

Trace looks good, and it looks like you are well over a 2Mbps download cap.

What are your advertised speeds? Can you provide a traceroute: -start, run: cmd -tracert testmy.net

Have you tried upgrading the firmware on your router from the vendor's website?
