    Not always...I installed it on a Win 2K drive and 2K is still there.

    Gutsy has two (2) main changes: 1. NEW GRAPHICS!!!! 2. Support for more things (ex: Wireless adapters) It has a few others but I am not aware of them.

    I installed Gutsy Gibbon with the live CD and got perfect results.

    It will recognize it and I dont think it will overwrite the other no. I have Ubuntu installed and it's partition manager is a lot different then XP's but works the same way.

    But you see I already have a system and just wanted to upgrade my CPU to a faster more reliable one. But in doing that I would need to get a new motherboard due to sempron going out of sales. This motherboard would need to come with a processer (or find a cheap one for it) and have DDR RAM and an AGP Graphics card slot.

    Go with the AMD it will do a lot of good for now but thats just a suggestion. It's also so much cheaper!!!

    I would say have the fan on the back blowing out and the one on the side in so you get nice filtration. I dunno about the back holes thing though.

    I agree...you killed the proccessor...Swimmer's right...you should replace the motherboard and proccessor as for the RAM dont test it at Best Buy just test it when you get a new motherboard and proccessor but your other stuff should be fine, the power supply, the graphics card, and any other PCI or PCIE cards you may have added.
