  2. A friend of mine has Nero 7.0.1.2 and can back up any DVD w/out dvd shrink. TheHalf
  3. If you plan on viewing these backup DVD's on your DVD player for your TV, check the manual for the player to see what is compatible. TheHalf
  4. No difference. +R / -R one is more universal than the other but both will work just fine. TheHalf
  5. What about system restore? Rolling back your PC before you did the HP upgrade. TheHalf

    Hard Drive setup?

My PCI SATA controller only has two ports. Resopalrabotnick you may be thinking of RAID 1 where if one drive fails the data is preserved on another (mirrored/duplexing across the array). RAID 0 spreads the data across the array (striping). In RAID 1, 2 x 500GB HDD's will be seen as 1 500GB HDD. TheHalf
  7. What about support from their website? y=8&submit.x=4&lang=en&cc=us'>http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=422000&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&submit. y=8&submit.x=4&lang=en&cc=us TheHalf

  9. Resopalrabotnick you need to accept people are people and are gonna do things you may deem inappropiate, immoral or whatever. And why is it your soo insistant on having the last word in these matters? Dude just let it go! And "agree to disagree" TheHalf

    Hard Drive setup?

I'm well aware of that (1TB Performance RAID 0 (2 x 500GB SATA II HDDs)), I can also install 2 x 500GB PATA drives on either IDE controller (depending on where I want to install my optical drives) configure my systems BIOS and wala. TheHalf
  11. Right. In do time when I need a cane to walk and prune juice to lax me, I'll be able to afford it. TheHalf

    Hard Drive setup?

Storage is good and now with 1TB SATA HDD's on RAID 0 can you imagine another 2 500 GB HDD's on that Prim or Sec. IDE controller. woohoo TheHalf
  13. When I first ordered DSL from the merging Bell Atlantic & GTE companies with a whopping 768Kbps/128Kbps, it was for p2p. I'm not a 'gamer' and there's only 1 PC here in my apartment, so faster porn is also my second and final answer. TheHalf

  16. With cable breaking 10Mbps down and 1Mbps up along with FiOS, I am curious as why many people make the jump from dialup to broadband then to an even faster broadband connection. Please comment on your choices and be honest. TheHalf
  17. Oh yea TV shows. I am a big fan of Adult Swim and began acquiring episodes of 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force'. TheHalf
  18. Chances are that Secondary IDE controller will have 1 if not 2 optical drives on it. So if he wants to install that HDD on the Primary IDE controller he will need to set it to slave UNLESS it's a Dell PC, where it can remain on cable select. TheHalf
  19. Keeping that in mind, will PC manufacturers lower their cost on PC's if you can't get into the PC's OS without a credit card number? Or will they sell new PC's without an OS and allow a buyer to install his/her own OS? TheHalf
  20. He's alright with his speeds but the Powerlink package he addresses is wrong. Adelphia's packages (here in the Northeast) are as follows: 1.Basic, 256Kbps/256Kbps 2.Preferred, 4000Mbps/384Kbps 3.Premiere, 6000Mbps/768Kbps 4.Extreme, 16000Mbps/2000Mbps wala. TheHalf
  21. I agree. I'll be honest and admit I like to DL a tune once in awhile (usually something I heard on radio that I want to hear again). But most of my DL's are now music videos, I want to build a library of music videos (better stimulation) of my favourite tunes. TheHalf
  22. Then again if you use your PC everyday and use many programs on your PC, better to defrag everyday then. The first time may take a bit but if you defrag everyday before you shut-down your PC, it won't take as long. I also use Diskeeper 10. TheHalf
  23. Not that I know, but of the 14 people I loan the tape to, who's making copies to loan to their friends that I don't know? Let's not be a hypocrite and stop badgering those who do. It's not a moral sin (maybe unlike porn) to do things with technology today 2006. If your convictions are that strong, petition a class action lawsuit and go after manufacturers who make the devices readily for the public to use at will. TheHalf
