What about a mid day test ? I mean, anytime during the day, thats when the major slow down happens, this from every customer of wildblue that has posted here, besides one....... or maybe two, and there's quite a few ! So how is it that if we look at all the speed tests you've done here at testmy.net, that there all before, and after peak useage times, what I mean is the times that people are actually awake to use there connections ? http://www.testmy.net/tools/database/db_search.php?type=user&q=micwa1

The netstat command symbolically displays the contents of various network-related data structures for active connections. Flags -arp Displays address resolution interfaces. -cdlistats Shows statistics for CDLI-based communications adapters. -clear Clears all statistics. -num Shows network addresses as numbers. When this flag is not specified, the netstat command interprets addresses where possible and displays them symbolically. This flag can be used with any of the display formats. -protocol protocol Shows statistics about the value specified for the protocol variable, which is either a well-known name for a protocol or an alias for it. A null response means that there are no numbers to report. The program report of the value specified for this variable is unknown if there is no statistics routine for it. -routinfo Shows the routing tables, including the user-configured and current costs of each route. -routtable Shows the routing tables. When used with the -stats flag, the -routtable flag shows routing statistics. See Routing Table Display. -socket Specifies that network sockets are to be displayed. -state Shows the state of all configured interfaces. The interface display format provides a table of cumulative statistics for the following items: Errors Collisions Note: The collision count for Ethernet interfaces is not shown. Packets transferred The interface information that is displayed also provides the interface name, number, and address, as well as the maximum transmission units (MTUs). -stats Shows statistics for each protocol. Interval Continuously displays information, in seconds, regarding packet traffic on the configured network interfaces. Iv'e had this around for a while as a resource. There are more flags available depending on what information your looking for. I use it when I need to see what connections are active and listening on a machine.

The internal IP is generally set as dynamic within the router/ modem, this will but not always change each time the device requesting access to an outside network is turned on, or active. The ISP, or Internet Service Provider , also as a rule sends dynamic IP's to the modem, the modem will them "lease" out dynamic IP's to devices on the internal network. Business class connections, servers ect. would need a static IP, so it can be arranged with something humanly memorable in the form of a URL or, website name then is stored on a DNS Domain Name Server, which allows the request to be answered , and directed faster, without a huge worldwide search of every connected device on the internet. Each device is generally capable of being set up with a static IP from within the IP server, or router. Hope that helped, if you need more , ask

Alright, here go to start -> run -> cmd.exe. On the command promt, type "arp -a" . The output will be several or a couple IP addresses. Don't type the quotes in You'll se the output in a couple ways, one, will look something like this 10.0.0.0 23:3:XXXX And the actual IP to the canopy will be the one such as this >> 10.247.22.234 not all zero's Then you can enter this into your browser window to access the canopy

I should have explained , to make the IP static means the machine will always have the same IP when using that device. Some times it makes things a little more simple when forwarding a certain port. Especially for telnet of ftp type fun. Anyone find a decent pdf or something for this thing ? I found this att

The port forward section is in the advanced tab, you may need to make the machine static in order to accomplish this.

Get your 'mandatory' Internet passport, maybe? NOT!
mudmanc4 replied to zalternate's topic in General Discussion
Well thats where the U.S. comes in, see, thats what the majority vote for. So I wouldn't be so fast to brush it off. People enjoy being controlled. They just don't realize how much, until it happens to them, then it's too late. -
Looks like exactly, 5 over cap on the UL, and just a bit back on the dl, which there are more restrictions between anywhere and what your specific capabilities are then you might want to think about. Looks good to me.

well i have another question about my connection

are you sure they don't mean "25 / 2.5 " notice the point ? Because that would be more feasible looking at your test results. Check on that no ? -
Not getting defensive, just pointing out facts. It's your thoughts when you read, that give that interpretation of someone else's feelings. Windows machines are just as safe as macs, thing is, where people visit, what they download, and open attachments is what causes the issues, let alone lack of the proper program.

Socialistic insanity, I stopped at the part where it states how public access to the internet should not have been done the way it was, what joke, so only for people like him, he's not thinking, because if it weren't for us, he would be nothing. I'll read the rest after clearing my head. -
Havent used it coknuck, you ? What about clamwin , I use clamxav on the mac, and started implementing clamwin on clients machines, so far, in the last month or so there's been several detections, and nothing negative. I do hope MSSE works out well, I would like to see something like this from MS, something that can be applied and work seamlessly with there software, as well as there OS.

Yet another post that has nothing to do with the thread, simply to show the inability to comprehend reality and follow a single thought. This thread is about Microsoft security essential, in case anyone missed the title.
