here is a refurbished one for that machine. It does sound like it may be the supply, from what I have read here and there, it IS a bas power supply. But I wont say that for sure, who could , you know. On the model you have , the SMU is reset when the power cord os disconnected. If the machine is worth it to you, then go get one, I know thats what I would do. It's well worth the price.

Hmm form your last post DNAST1ST , sounds like this is more of an "old hardware / lines " issue with comcast ? I don't play online games much at all, so I wasn't really aware that you could choose your server, say like you can with half life.
-
Well, you could ship it to me no, I'm not kidding. I'll pay the shipping before you ship. Might be like you say, the power supply. Open the back cover(after making sure the power cord is UNPLUGGED , had to say it ) then look for the diagnostic LED's Now carefully plug the power in. Look to make sure LED 1 is ON, if it is, then it's getting power from the power supply. You may need to reset the SMU After resetting the SMU, then turn the machine on using the internal power button Does the computer power up ? If you got this far, assuming the LED#1 was lit up when you initially plugged the power cord in. If it isn't then the power supply will need to need replaced. BTW, did you use your multimeter to determine that the coed itself has continuity ?

Domain_not_set.invaild and netgear wireless router problem
mudmanc4 replied to ZengXiong's topic in New Members
Ah hell , it's no big deal, Iv'e done much worse then that . -
I would let it be. There's really no "fixing it" If your using standard network configuration, then don't worry about it. Unless your getting into spoofing your mac address for different reasons on a wireless network, or while your on a public network.

Post the results from the ping to the server you play on, could you ?
-
:haha: "reality check "
-
When you said this was going on at your last place, and that you say you get decent pings in testing, to me, this looks like the issue is within the machine itself. Maybe I missed something ? Maybe , you could try uninstalling, then re install, or no ?

I would take my multimeter to the power molex. I dunno about any specific tester myself. Is this something that just happened, or you acquired the thing, or what, just looking for a bit of background to go by.

Well whats the normal IP you had noted for the IPV4 ? No need to post it, just a rhetorical question for you to investigate. As far as "the latter " , ( it's something you can climb to get up higher to reach something out of reach ............. alright, I'm kidding, , it was meant to reference the second option for you to look into for a conclusion. Or the last thing I posted vs. the first thing.

Anyone playing with the Google Chrome OS yet?
mudmanc4 replied to icg1032's topic in General Discussion
Some may find this helpful, others might call it simple coincidence, but the general consensus is chrome stinks on ice, beyond that, I have a couple machines in here that the customer(s) has(d) chrome installed, and watched movies on nexflix, now without chrome, no problems, with chrome, third time they got a nasty virus, I can't find the connection because each time a "virus fix " program is installed that removes all icons or capabilities of starting explorer.exe, or anything else for that matter, other then the virus. This other machine, was using chrome, and as well using netflix, got the SAME software on there, I'm looking at them right now. Is there anyone, anywhere , that can add to this ? -
Hey thats pretty good, I need to get ahold of them, I'm thinking of switching to them, and they supposedly have it in my area.

Domain_not_set.invaild and netgear wireless router problem

What make, and model is the router ? I would try connecting right > here "69.106.189.109" to get to the router. Does this get you in ? If not , then try here "69.106.189.108". I can see you either have made alot of new connections after deleting some, to try and get the right settings pr connect, or you have alot going on , Id'e say the latter no ? If it is the latter, just trying to connect via web gui "IP" , and you don't have a complex config, then just reset the router, depending on the model, there should either be a hole in the back, that a paperclip will slide into, or a small button on the back, unplug the router, then press this button in, hold it there while plugging in the router, and keep holding it for at least 60 seconds, then let go, and you should be back to default. If you do have many settings that you don't think you will be able to reprogram, then you may want to try to telnet into the router to save the config before going back to default. I can't think of a router off top of my head that starts with this IP, what did you do to get it there ? Unless you have a static IP, or tried to change the IP for other reasons, most intranet sets start 192.XXX.XX, or something of that nature.

Windows 7 product key for upgrade version
mudmanc4 replied to Le_Murphant's topic in General Discussion
gawd i hate some of danasoft BS ! useless clutter. I was told yesterday that you could wipe the drive, and install 7. I can't verify that , I'll let you guy's and MS work out the bugs until at least the second SP before getting into that jazz. It is an interesting question "32/64 bit, should be on the same disk no ? If not, MS is just being the corporate entity they are exercising there right to be capitalists. But we all would like more then one copy of MS w/o having to purchase a volume license, or more keys. Please, let us know what you come up with either way. -
So even though your test score is good, your ping to the game server is bad ? Am i missing something ? This would mean that the server your connecting to , to play the game, and the route to it, is causing the issues. What are you pinging ? Even so, no matter, 109 Ms should NOT be an issue for playing a game . So maybe we need to look elsewhere for the problem.

Once again, you have government making a statement that we know nothing, that we can't think, and make decisions for ourselves, that we need another tax funded organization to tell us what is good for us. They don't know what they would propose my ass, they will propose more regulations on private corporations forcing them to do what a small handful of bureaucrats say is best , but what is best is rarely best for the consumers, or private companies. And I don't blame them for being concerned either, they should be, government is creeping it's way into private business like a thief in the night !

Upload speed 90% slower????
mudmanc4 replied to spudler_t's topic in XFINITY (Comcast Cable Communications)
Not with Comcast, nor do I have this problem, I take it you've removed any devices between the modem and the test machine to make sure it's not within any device other then the modem. I ask because like you said, the ISP claims they see nothing. And have you the ability to test another machine, or are they the same results ? -
I think I know what your trying to do, but could you rephrase what your trying to do ? If it's just to set up a dynamic IP from ddns , then you'll have to assign a static Ip to the specific machine. And forward the specific port you need on that IP.

Thanks for the "sir" , it's entirely unnecessary. Have you made sure that your system is devoid of any malware of any kind, and is the lower speeds you are getting what they have always been, or did this happen in a short period of time ?

ubuntu linx 9.10 notebook remix and wifi printer server setup ?????s
mudmanc4 replied to a topic in General Discussion
Dunno much about print servers myself, I just configure them as another device on the network so all machines can access them. If I have a USB printer, I'll connect it to a local machine / server and share it, then configure it on each machine. Sorry i cannot be of more help Jeff, but it's good to hear from you. -
Have a good day dude
