Like you said memory would be my first thought. Just something that rings a bell, maybe try and raise your page file, I don't remember what this had to do with extraction, but I had an issue somewhat like this once and that fixed it. I would think also whatever program your useing to extract, if you can try 7Zip instead.

Well, is the link I have here the router you have ? If it is, and the IP doesn't work, then is it poosible that someone has changed it. http://downloads.thomson.net/telecom/documentation/TG787/R74X/SetupUserGuide/PDF/TG787_SetupUserGuide_en.pdf

U caught that too hey ?

How much would it be for less bandwidth ? I'm thinking you might need to make a dreaded call to smartbro.

Welcome to testmy.net mysterious

you caught me off guard there.....

wow coknuck, all I have to do is type "cmd" in the search bar at the bottom of the start menu. I have it pinned to the start menu anyway.

Which ones were easy for you ?

Nice find shug, I have no other words.

H'bout clicking start> then type " run" in the search box, then you'll have to exicute the command, when the shell opens, type "tracert" then the IP, or dns name you want to trace, the same goes for ping. That would be the basics, there are flags that can be inserted for different resutls.

The second one underlined appears to be a router within the datacenter that prbably gets sallot of traffic, I don't think htis is the first time there was lag in there "bounce" config. I'm sure the site owner could explin better. Why do you take the first two from the result ? There's nothing personal in there.

Welcome to testmy.net SOLO48, there's a ton of gamers here, I'm sure you'll run into them sooner then later Have look around the gaming area.

Your traceroutes for whre your at look pretty good, as well as consistant. Maybe start the automatic test here at testmy.net, let that run as many days as you want, it will log all the data for you. Post a few of them here, and we'll see how you do. The auto test is in the "misc tools ' drop down menu at the top of the page, I just linked you to it here Just minimise the window the test is running in after you set the specific times per day you want the test to run. You can open a new Explorer window to browse.

This might sound to easy, but if you havent alredy, try changing the channel, many remote camera systems, phones, and such send interference. Even neibors. Although I don;t think this is what it is, because you say "1-2 minutes" the last time I cam accross this, it was a firmware issue. Maybe try different versions , "downgrade" , isn't always bad. Make sure your using the vendor utility, not the windows one. Or are you already.

Yea, I think your right, and also device age makes a difference. Considering age in what were talking about , old could be 12 months lol

Try reading this thread , read through the replies to this post , see if it might work for oyu. But from what I understand your going to have to ontact your ISP. It's usually accessed through a browser using an IP, and logging in through a popup. The specific address and login will have been setup by the ISP that provided the hardware. That goes with that specific hardware.

Do you use the auto test here at testmy.net ? Maybe , unless your just sick of your problem lol, do that for a day, and then as many times as you can, do a trace route here, log it all, and the times, set your router to log all connections ( it's allot in the router ) but find out what's causing it you know ? You'll be able to see if someone is knockin on your door lol, or from the inside out . Did you do as many scans as you can in safe mode ? edit fro my cruddy spelling tonight lol

When you say cable box, do you mean router ? I had that happen a while back, never did get to the bottom of it, it lasted on and off for a year. I finally went down and exchanged the modem, and all was well. Only other thing I can think of is, someone, or something is using your bandwidth . They , or it, loses connection obviously when you kill the power, then it starts up again. Maybe did a bit deeper into your system for nasties ? Some people find it helpful if they uninstall there current malware/spyware program, and try another one.

Awe shit, I have to get that thing , I miss sitting home when I was sick as kid, mom used to watch that show ( who didn't ) It's the longest running TV show i think.

I'm sure it's not complete, as technology forms new devices, I didn't write it, none the less, useful. Here's is a small utility to discover the dynamic IP for you. (The one assigned by yout ISP) Dynamic discovery program

Here is a list of the default router passwords and IP's that I use, there's hundreds of them. I'm sure everything isn't on there but there's quite a few. It is a .PDF, so you can save it easy.
