Way the hell out of most peoples grasp, and the ones that it's not, aren't thinking "man, I need o spend 16 K on a computer that I wont be using.

XP used to do that, I have something saved that fixed another machine at one time, it's worht a try. What it was that windows was constantly looking for a connection, something breaks, and there you go. Try these steps, see what happens. 1. restart computer. 2. double click on the network icon in taskbar 3. click advanced 4. check ON the "Use windows to manage wireless networking" 5. click ok 2. connect to my network 4. click advanced 5. check OFF the "Use windows to manage wireless networking" 6. close all windows. But the next time you start windows , it will do the same thing. I have another one, but it's long and nasty, if this doesn't solve the issue, we'll try it, k ? Also disable"Enable IEEE 802.1x"

One of the best structured devices available, if not the only interactive map of the Linux Kernel. In depth code search . If your interested at all in Linux, and what all distro's are based on, this is a keeper ! Thanks to the creator(s) of this map, and of course Linus Torvalds, the creator of the Linux Kernel. Don't do that yet, hang in there a bit more. What exactly is cutting out, what message do you get ? Iv'e seen a wireless connection act like this improperly configured, do you have a wireless connection? Are you using windows wireless, or device specific if you do?

Can you post any of the speedtests ? Have you run the automatic test to see what time of the day, if any, that the slowdown is ?

Most importantly, make sure you can be reached by other clients, I mean make sure that the specific port for that torrent program is open, most of them have a "port check" . Just play around a bit, you'll get it, and ask, thats how we all learn

Your only going to download as fast as the clients you are connected to are allowing. Your firewall nust be open port specific to the client your using. Your modem bootfile can be allocated to 3, 5 , or even 20 and up Mbps, but that's not the way torrents work. The program, or whatever, is converted into a torrent , and "broken" up into chunks, this way, you can download a different chunk from different client, You take small chunks of the data your downloading from as little as 1, up to any concievable number, depending on how many machines have that specific data on them, as well as a torrent serving client. This does several things, someo of which are there's no costly server sitting there serving up terrabytes of data, and the download can be paused , and you are pretty much insured that if your doing something you shouldn't be, then there's always a great possibility that in one or more of the "chunks" of data, some dork put something you don't want on your machine. Yea, like a virus. Although open source programs arent ususally targeted, torrents are a great p2p way to distibute those free operating systems, and such that the community has developed together. Thats about as far as my knowledge takes me, besides a few small specifics. I'm sure there's others here that can explain a bit further.

SmartBro Canopy Software Update, How to? (w/ screenshots)
mudmanc4 replied to a topic in Smart Bro (Wi-fi)
You can install cablenut, then find the correct css file in this link , you may have to try several different files before optimum speeds. Always reboot after changing the registry values. If you can't find the right one ( because there's so many) , post what your ISP has you allocated at, and somone will help you find at least some of the best ones for you. -
I was reading about this and what I should have said was set it to "let windows choose size" or whatever it says, but then you have to watch for severe fragmentation, the page file will ony expand when it's set amount of virtual memory is reached, ( it says the default set pagefile allocation is 150% of the physical memory) ......blah blah blah And it has to reach 250% in order to expand .......so I would open her up, and see what happens. So try that
