  5. I just got back from the local tity bar, ........uhh, I mean the mac cafe', I came home w/ a new macbook pro, 15" I have Leopard installing as we speak, I'm not even messin around w/ Tiger. They gave me a coupon to send in w/ my receipt that will be good for a copy of Leopard. They said 9.99 for shipping. Damn, this thing is the nicest machine I've ever had, and I haven't even got to play yet. lol
  6. I like it because of it's size! I'm not one of those people who likes to carry the largest screen size there is! defeats the purpose! Now they only make a 13" macbook.
  7. The install went fine. I did a new install, I had Fedora 7/Ubuntu / opensuse 10.3 running on it, and they all ran fine for a month prior to this. I did a pmu reset & a nvram reset to re-program the Pram, still Kernel panic. Bummer! I think I'm gonna go get a new one, and use this one as an experimental box, I guess.
  8. I'm glad for you, but seems I have an issue. I have a kernel panic from the get go. Installed properly, when she re-booted for the first time, I had the wonderful " you must shut down the computer" . Now I have a black screen! Called apple, they of course said bring it in, and for 39.95 to look, and possibly a logic board issue that will run you around 359.95, for the part, and 75.00 per hour . It will take around two hours to fix. Nice!
  9. Hehehehehehe.......... got mine, installing on my laptop right now :-P :-P :-P :-P Edit: Holy moly, say install time is about 2 Hrs.................
  10. Very cool! I find TMN has the most realistic measure. Keep track with the automatic test, there great for tracking heavy useage times in the network.
  11. Well the macbook starts at 1099.00 Imagine that , dude I'm typin on a 2 year old iBook, It screams ,@1.3, just as fast as my 3200 AMD , or my 2.8 intel, and has no issues, Look, the new os Leoprd is commin out friday, I don't have to speak for it, it speaks for itself. Stable , and fun.
  12. Dang dude, time flies huh? And your right, it is good conversation as well as the info you can gather.
  13. I know you want other, but allow me to make a suggestion? apple.com
  14. Well said , but at the same token , to be able to get to the point of OCing to these levels,( obviously you have experience) you must have some experience, you don't just go into the bios and start geekin things out, , you'll not only be resetting your bios, but possibly corrupting file systems, and burning MB's. I was asked a while ago, " why do you OC all your stuff , your not seeing any difference, you just think you are ".!!! hahahahahahahaha, BS, I can see less than 100 Mhz. Can't tell me I can't , because I remember running ,machines that only ran a couple hundred MHz. And less. I don't do it for the $$$ savings, I do it to see how far I can upclock and stay completely stable. Heat is your worst enemy. Keep it cool, and don't apply to much voltage to the core. ok, enough of my ramblings , onward
  15. :2funny: :2funny: And thats why I stay folks, right there :2funny: :2funny:
  16. You'll most likely be spending the better part of your computing time , using the Mac. If not for the sheer stability of a unix based system, the damn things are fun! You get attatched to them as if they were a friend.
  17. How do you do overall though, because sometimes I get really good speeds, say like from Microsoft , or something like that , where they have a good throughput. I'm in Ohio BTW, so I think I'm a bit farther from the server.
  18. Gotcha Where ya been all this time? lol You should come around more, Hey , who's your ISP anyway? That seems like a good package you have, Wish I could get that here.
  19. I got about half way through watching in Xp, my 2k boot file is corrupt, I don't feel like fixin it tonight. Either way, I'm like a kid, can't wait for the thing to come out
  20. I have it on XP, but there is no version for linux. I can't say why she won't play on XP. I'm gonna try 2k
  21. Iv'e tried to watch that thing w/ open suse, fedora, and XP, they all just sit there, the " transferring data from apple .........." and the black vid screen.
