j3grizz Posted April 2, 2006 CID Share Posted April 2, 2006 Hi everyone. I have been on the forum for a little while now and figured this may be a good way to get to know everyone. I have been in networking and electronic communications for a little while now and now a bit about that but have never really changed my settings on my home pc until now so I am learning like everyone else. I also work on HVAC, mechanical, electrical etc... All of our HVAC units are on an ethernet network so I get to play with them during work hours. So if ya have any questions about any of this fire away!! Now if anyone would like to post anything about yourself to help me get to know ya better that would be great! I Look forward to getting to know everyone. Post away.

RTB Posted April 2, 2006 CID Share Posted April 2, 2006 Scratch one up for the computer addicts, I'm one of them. Dutch student, 19 years old. Haven't accomplished much in real life yet, so I'll stick to my somewhat more interesting internet life. Been here for over 2 years, moderatorship came as quite the surprise, but grew into one eventually. Besides here, I'm at about 5 Diablo II fora, mostly answering questions and more questions. Quite recently I've begun staying up-to-date on hardware and overclocking, after deciding to get a real computer for once. The first result: AMD64 3200+ at 2700 Mhz, benchable just above 2900 Mhz. Another habit is Quake 3, have had that game for over 5 years, but my current home situation only lets me game online once in a blue moon, so I stick to fragging bots and defragging. That's me, any questions? I'm used to answering them
Swimmer Posted April 2, 2006 CID Share Posted April 2, 2006 Yeah... so about me.. I am a college student at Purdue University. I am majoring in Computer and Information Technology. I have interned at Abbott Laboratories with their WAN team. Quite an experience! Other than that I am into the network/server side of things. I also swim for Purdue, hence the user name, and am currently looking for summer employment.. I have been here since Dec of 2003 the same day that I got my Comcast cable internet. I guess my strength is consumer networking equipment.. When I finish college I would like to either work for the government, CIA/FBI/DHS, or work for a large company. In my spare time, which I have little of, I enjoy video games, hanging out with my CIT buddies, and playing other sports.

That is some tall smoke blowing. A/1C flying an A-10, that ain't happening, no NCO flys a real plane and at your age being in Iraq is also suspect. You may be good at computers but, you need to leave the smoking to a Pro. Just wanted to let you know that you got caught. :haha: You can look at my profile and find out all you need to know or send a message. junkieXL Posted April 3, 2006 CID Share Posted April 3, 2006 hi to all- Justin here, living in the Boston metro area. i am married but probably not for much longer. no kids to my knowledge. Job: senior IT at a medium-size bio-tech company, running 50 stations & 2 servers; also 10 overseas clients accessing through remote desktop. The building is wired with a nice dual T-1. Server room has a Carrier 12,000 Btu cooler in it. I like to keep it at a frosty 60 degrees, especially in the summer. Been there since 1997. Also run 2 fileservers from home on EFNet IRC & maintain 3 channels & 2 eggdrop botnets. i employ around 15 unix shell accounts for the bots & other stuff. Not many hobbies to speak of, except my belonging to an Urban Exploration group, "UrbanAdventures"; in which we infiltrate & photograph various abandoned places such as State hospitals, asylums, missile sites, etc. A most exciting hobby it is, but has landed us in jail many times for trespassing state & federal land. Check out some of the places at Mike Dijital's site--he is the best photographer i've seen yet. http://www.dijitalphotography.com I play guitar & sometimes make home recordings. No time anymore for any type of serious bands or doing local shows. I own a 1999 Fender Big Apple Strat & a new Les Paul Custom. Have 2 drum machines & tons of other music crap i wont bore you with right now. Fav food: pizza, black cherry vanilla coke, quisp cereal. Fav drink: captain morgans, gin & tonic. Best-looking: Adriana Lima & Avril Lavigne. Music: too much to list, no country. i guess thats it... peace- JxL

Now ther's one on each gin stand and two running press. I live by redneck retirement, if I hit powerball I retire. I'll be working till death. Have 3 grown daughters, 1 in Boston working at Harvard, ! in Louisiana fixing to marry, 1 pumping gas at a service station. She's the one with her head in the clouds and tatoo's on the rest of her. Told my wife for years that 20th aniversity I was gonna split (our private joke) so she gave me a babyboy. He's 7 and has baseball everyday now. Keeping fat ole me busy. I love to read and like anything complicated so computers have become a great pastime. I'm envious of the youth that understand how all this tech works. Back in 77 I would have caught on quickly. Like swimmer said I could type a book but got other thing gottado. I'm really glad to have this heart to ars chat. adios
