organ_shifter Posted June 9, 2006 CID Share Posted June 9, 2006 I use SnagIt for my screens. Haven't used Print Screen on Vista because that's the key I have mapped to the application. It overrides the paste function when pressed.
amc11890 Posted June 9, 2006 CID Share Posted June 9, 2006 amc11890 did you use the download manager or the direct download link? yeah Unfourtanetly i was unable to install vista, i got to the last part when it was finalizing the upgrade and then it stopped responding and i had to reboot and then it restored it back to xp, ill try again tomorrow. CA3LE Posted June 9, 2006 CID Share Posted June 9, 2006 HOLY CRAP.. Vista kicks ass! I will post allot more information tomorrow, hopefully I will get my article together tomorrow. It's seriously smooth and visually clean. I was expecting it to run slower than XP because it's so new but on my system it seems even faster. I can tell you already....... the day this OS hits the shelves as a finished product I will be getting my copy for sure! Brownie2k2001 Posted June 9, 2006 CID Share Posted June 9, 2006 I've managed to download it... but i think i might have to reformat my HDD and partition it, i really don't want to overwrite my XP!! It downloaded rather fast too... took me bout an hour and 20 Min's to come down... 725KB/s all the way Can it only be used by burning it to DVD?? When i try open the ISO file, it's only got a Readme file in it?? (this is probably answered somewhere in this post, but I've not really had time to look through)

organ_shifter Posted June 9, 2006 CID Share Posted June 9, 2006 How do you create a new partion on your Hard Drive? So I don't have to wright over all my XP files? I recommend: Symantec's Norton Partition Magic 8.0 (PowerQuest version if possible) Acronis Disk Director Suite Paragon Partition Manager 7.0 Either of the above programs will work just fine. Note: I didn't see a trial for Norton's solution on their site, but it may be offered somewhere else. Acronis & Paragon does offer a free trial on the product page. biker9075 Posted June 9, 2006 CID Share Posted June 9, 2006 So if i download trial of Paragon I will be able to create a 40GB partition for example on my 80 GB drive? Or will I have to purchase the full? EDIT: i am going to try and get my old computer working again and install Vista right over XP since I dont use it anymore
