grift3r74 Posted June 30, 2007 CID Share Posted June 30, 2007 Im down and out as of yesterday. :buck2: From blazing speed to a crappy nothing! Sheesh! what the hell are they doing on our basestations? Im composing this on my work PC. connected through Globe Broadband connection. I have already spammed and nuked even their customer support email. But up until today still got no luck. I dont even have a limited or no connectivity signal, it just doesnt connect. just stays "aquiring network or something" sheesh. I'm too tired and pissed off at smart bro about this. and as much as possible I dont want to talk to their crappy techsupport. (makes me more furious ) Maybe the basestation is still under repairs.. Try calling their hotline *1888 on a smart, tnt or addict mobile phone.. Ask them whats the problem so you will know what it is quickly... I tried calling them once when my connection keeps redirecting me to the smartbro portal and they quickly fixed it.. (luckily the one who answered was nice). ripclawph Posted July 2, 2007 CID Share Posted July 2, 2007 @jun101ph thanks for the advice, after mailing CSR about the slow bandwidth connection :tickedoff: they did respond agad sa reklamo ko. they mailed me and even called saying withing 24hrs they will try to fix the issue. pero hanggang ngayon gnun pa rin ang service nila! they'll be receiving a lot of mails from me in the following days! my speed: 10am-10pm: 10pm-10am
sryche Posted July 2, 2007 CID Share Posted July 2, 2007 Hello I just want to ask. I have configured and tweaked smartbro. I got good speed now. but the problem is, my latency ingame, in an online game is quiet high... and the worst is that it keeps fluctuating... then i get to be disconnected a lot. Know some solutions for this?
jun101ph Posted July 2, 2007 CID Share Posted July 2, 2007 @ripclawph Your welcome, that's the biggest problem with smartbro, they don't act immediately on complaints reported over the telephone. Actually I received an email from tech support just this morning, informing me that they are now troubleshooting the root of the problem. Ganon lang yan pre, you have to document everything para wala silang lusot. Mas effective pag written kaysa verbal complaints lang. speedtest ko ngayon, :::.. jun101ph Posted July 2, 2007 CID Share Posted July 2, 2007 Latency or ( time it takes for the data to transfer) and fluctuating bandwidth are base station technical problems. You have to report it thru an email to the CSR, indicate your ping test as well as the result of speed test.

bangkay Posted July 2, 2007 CID Share Posted July 2, 2007 hi guys! been quietly observing this thread since i got my smartbro a few months back. i did the tweak that elijahpaul posted and so far, it has been stable at 350-380 kbps (except for 2 days wherein i only got limited access) i also used the color code but the only problem is, the other color code with a higher RSSI has a high jitter rate as well. so i switched back to my original color code. now i'm using cablenut but i couldn't see any difference. or do you need it to optimize for a couple of days before seeing an increase in speed? (thanks for all the tips!!!) :::.. testmy.net test results ..::: Download Connection is:: 357 Kbps about 0.36 Mbps (tested with 386 kB) Download Speed is:: 44 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 310 Kbps about 0.3 Mbps (tested with 579 kB) Upload Speed is:: 38 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Server 1) Test Time:: 2007/07/02 - 8:14am D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-FCZ0HIVTW U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-T4UM0JXIF User Agent:: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070515 Firefox/2.0.0.4 [!]
grift3r74 Posted July 2, 2007 CID Share Posted July 2, 2007 @bangkay For me, the cablenut settings took immediate effect after i restarted my computer.. It increased by around 50-80 kB/s. Maybe when gourame logs in he can answer your questions better than me.. He knows a lot about the program. Or you can try his cablenut settings on page 27. bangkay Posted July 2, 2007 CID Share Posted July 2, 2007 @grift3r74 i think i'm using gourame's settings. lemme double check. the difference i noticed though when i used cablenut is that my upload speed got faster. guess i can't complain since one of them got higher. hehe yeah, i'll check in with gourame once he's online. thanks bro!! jun101ph Posted July 2, 2007 CID Share Posted July 2, 2007 Results from tweaking using Cablenut or other programs are only noticeable when the base station is stable. My current speed,

jun101ph Posted July 2, 2007 CID Share Posted July 2, 2007 I believe tweaks are only effective if smartbro has reliable internet connection. Just last 7pm yesterday, my download dropped to 78 kbps, it was like a dial up speed.tsk3x. I have sent countless emails to them, but they don't take complaints seriously?or they are just so incompetent, I am so dissatisfied. I wish they can improve their services soon. bangkay Posted July 2, 2007 CID Share Posted July 2, 2007 @jun101ph i believe so. i experienced having no connection or limited connection only for a couple of days (upgrade maybe?). but one thing is for sure, it's unreliable. no matter how many tweaks that we do, if the provider itself is incompetent, we're bound to have crappy connections. nonetheless, thank you guys for making this whole thing a little bit bearable. jun101ph Posted July 2, 2007 CID Share Posted July 2, 2007 I just hope our telecommunications law will be amended to allow foreign entities/companies (especially Internet services providers) to operate here in the country. If that will happen, there will be competitions and for sure improvements of the services.

azureguy Posted July 3, 2007 CID Share Posted July 3, 2007 it was reported that smartbro has been upgraded from 384 to 512 in some provincial areas, i guess that explains the huge speed boosts over 384.
