coolbuster2007 Posted July 5, 2007 CID Share Posted July 5, 2007 somehow SmartBro seems so kind to me for now. here's my down speed: its 4:45 am MLA time. and at this early few people are using the internet in PI, that's the reason why the speed is slightly faster, right?. jun101ph Posted July 6, 2007 CID Share Posted July 6, 2007 I guess I solved my problem. I changed my base station. Although by these time ilts not that high but the connection is good. thanks for our own, tweak. we can't expect from disable TSR.
azureguy Posted July 6, 2007 CID Share Posted July 6, 2007 base stations are found at the AP list on the canopy GUI, right?
jun101ph Posted July 6, 2007 CID Share Posted July 6, 2007 actually base-stations / Cell-Sites are for cellphones but it is misused and applied in their smartbro internet. the right term is the AP or access points. The Access points are placed / mounted on the smart cell site tower. what we can see on the Canopy AP List are the Access points. There are 6 or 8 AP modules in a Base station. You can only tell that an AP is on a different cell site or base station by looking at the DISTANCE ( the indicated distance on the AIR DELAY in miles). jun101ph Posted July 6, 2007 CID Share Posted July 6, 2007 If Access points have the same Distance as indicated on the AIR DELAY, meaning the APs are on the same Base station.
azureguy Posted July 6, 2007 CID Share Posted July 6, 2007 ok, got it. thanks jun101ph. now which one of these do i choose? color code: 194 RSSI: around 600 air delay: 94 jitter: 2-4 color code: 195 RSSI: 900-1000+ air delay: 94 jitter: 3-11 (fluctuating) based on the air delay, they're on the same base site. jun101ph Posted July 6, 2007 CID Share Posted July 6, 2007 The reason for different values for RSSI level is that the Subscriber Module ( the Antenna) have different orientation with respect the to access points. maybe the other AP is directly facing towards the antenna that's why RSSI is 900 and the other AP is not facing directly. grift3r74 Posted July 6, 2007 CID Share Posted July 6, 2007 I think that my speed is getting consistent now... Dload does'nt go below 200. I don't know if its the tuneup utilities 2007 program I installed a few weeks ago or the base station itself just got better.. http://www.testmy.net/tools/database/db_search.php?type=user&q=grift3r74
jun101ph Posted July 6, 2007 CID Share Posted July 6, 2007 @azureguy, if i will decide for u, i will choose RSSI of 600 with jitter 2 - 4. why? because you don't need the excess power to have a better link to the access point. you only need RSSI of 500 to have a better link.
