jun101ph Posted June 17, 2007 CID Share Posted June 17, 2007 @kaiten no wires or additional cable, just that stinger alone. just slip the canopy subscriber module into that opening of the Stinger.

jun101ph Posted June 17, 2007 CID Share Posted June 17, 2007 @kaiten01 based on your canopy parameters you do have a very good link already. RSSI of 600+ is very good, i guess you don't need to have this Stinger. but anyway you can still try it if you like to increase further the RSSI. But it is not necessary to have an RSSI of more than 700, because this will not increase further the bandwidth of the signal. The main purpose of the stinger is to establish a very good microwave link between the canopy SM(atenna) and the canopy access point (the base station). jun101ph Posted June 17, 2007 CID Share Posted June 17, 2007 You must report any complains to the CSR thru an email with the snapshots of the bandwidthtest ( documentation of the events). jun101ph Posted June 17, 2007 CID Share Posted June 17, 2007 Probably yes, my upload and download efficiency are improved, consistent value at 100% (you can find the link test at your canopy platform). gourame Posted June 17, 2007 CID Share Posted June 17, 2007 you don't need that stinger, your already set up with a good link between your home base and your canopy. that stinger helps boost rssi for those having 400 rssi like mine. whats sought after that stinger is the jitter drop and link connectivity. ask jun101ph he knows more details about it if i am not wrong. jun101ph Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 RSSI value of more than 700 will just give you an excellent link to the base station, but it is not that significantly required. This would not translate to higher Bandwidth (high upload and download rate), it would be a waste of power.
nbamaniac Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 Wow u guys ur great!! Especially u gourame!! Thnx for d cablenut thingy... I'm a newly registered member and I've been having problems with Smart Broken since last year (I think the download speed is only 9 kB/s!!) But ever since I read ur posts, it increased for up to 60 kB/s.. I am currently using the CableNut and I'm using gourame's cablenut settings (WinXP_2K_CABLE_DSLMSS1460Cable & DSL 5000 768.ccs) ... This is currently my favorite setting because it made my broadband run significantly faster.. Here are my improved results.. ::::::::::.. testmy.net test results ..:::::::::: Download Connection is:: 433 Kbps about 0.43 Mbps (tested with 386 kB) Download Speed is:: 53 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 368 Kbps about 0.4 Mbps (tested with 748 kB) Upload Speed is:: 45 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Server 1) Test Time:: 2007/06/17 - 10:03pm D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-DEMWYQ9TU U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-8X6QJMPYU User Agent:: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070515 Firefox/2.0.0.4 By the way gourame, do u know of any cablenut settings which are better than my current setting mentioned above??? And also my current ping is still above 900. Is there any way to decrease the ping??... The base station bandwidth is 384 and I think they don't want to upgrade it yet.. (Btw, I'm from Zamboanga too..Zamboanga Hermosa preciosa perlita!! Seems like many zamboanguenos are having problems with smart broken..lol)... nbamaniac Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 A word of advise to other readers.. I forgot to mention that I attained this by using CableNut ONLY!! I advise u that if u have other tweaking applications such as CFOSSpeed, u need to disable it because it will SLOW DOWN ur broadband connection when u use it with CableNut..... I charge it to my own experience...

drizzt1911 Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 Hello Peeps.. I'm from Cainta Rizal and I've been lurking in this forum for quite some time now. silently trying tweaks that has been offered and suggested. and it really does work!. I'd like to say a great thanks to Gourame for those info, well actually to all of you who make this thread since all have contributed in making the smart bro/ken little bearable. But the most gut wrenching problem I have now is not the speed but the connectivity itself. it keeps on getting "limited or no connectivity" I have to IP release and /renew and/or disable or enable the local area connection, for it just to work. more weird part is. it usually connects. but the only activity I see on the LAN is on the SENT but no activity on th received. I'm not really sure what my problem is. / I have already replaced my LAN card. / installed a new OS (winxp sp2) firewall is always off. / AV is set to just monitor (AVG anti-vir) I have already called at least several dozen times to the no good technical support of smart bro / and they always tell the same frigging technical questions and procedures. Now I'm breaking my silence.... I need your opinions and suggestions on this. Please help. you guys are more reliable that the CSR and TSR of smart bro. (they're useless) since its a call center, Well from what I heard, the salary for those agents are also sub standards for a CC. then we the subscribers doesn't really benefit from it.( most likely they're taking it out on us.) drizzt1911 Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 @jun101ph. - Yeah, I am already thinking about the stinger. only problem is that, I don't know how to do it. nor knows anyone who can.. I'm already looking for someone who can fabricate. but up to now. still no luck. Is it all aluminum? I'm no engineer. Any suggestions on which I can request this to be made? at a hardware store?
