disturbed Posted February 14, 2008 CID Share Posted February 14, 2008 have you ever considered the fact that your hardware config/overclock, etc might not be running within the safe limits in vista ? ....just because it was in xp it does not mean it will act the same in vista - so if it was me I would retest and do some stress testing to make sure that you aren't making some sort of a mistake, its quite possible - i have yet to get a single bsod with vista

coknuck Posted February 14, 2008 CID Share Posted February 14, 2008 I love it!! I got her overclocked to 3.0Ghz ideling around 31 Degrees. Vista takes about 15 secs to boot up, and no joke I don't OC any more. I really didn't see that much improvement for the problems.I don't game so whats the need to CO. xs1 Posted February 18, 2008 CID Share Posted February 18, 2008 Alright ive been running vista for a couple of weeks now, and starting to hate it. My reason: it likes to crash, and Ive got the BSoD about 4 times. I have all the newest drivers installed, and all current windows updates. In a couple of day i may just go back to XP Home. Well my only concern is how well will xp run on my Intel Q6700. So should I just wait for Vista's SP1 or just go back to XP? MY Specs: XFX 680i LT SLI Motherboard W/ Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 2 Gigs of DDR2-6400 2-Geforce 8600 GT XXX Edtion 1 150GB WD Raptor SATA 1 250GB WD SATA Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Sound card I have good enough hardware to run vista, but it likes to give me sh*t God im SO late, but id stil stay with xp save your resources! dlewis23 Posted February 18, 2008 CID Share Posted February 18, 2008 God im SO late, but id stil stay with xp save your resources! You never want to do that with a quad core. You would actually hurt your self, by running XP. If you ran windows server 2k3 you would be alright.
