php Posted July 14, 2005 CID Share Posted July 14, 2005 I could use a few people to test out the new version of my autocheck program... It's attached to this message, just download, extract, and run autocheck.bat. It creates a log in the folder it is located in, as well as copying the log to the clipboard. I would appreciate it if you checked that the log exists, and that its contents are in your clipboard by pasting it here (just press Ctrl+V in the message box to paste it). I would like to see the logs to make sure everything is working properly. Thanks in advance ~php edit: updated version and instructions can be found here

php Posted July 14, 2005 Author CID Share Posted July 14, 2005 Heh.. interesting... your IP isn't any one of the IPs in the tracert... maybe a good thing to know... (that people aren't revealing their IPs accidently by posting the log) Edit: I found a very minor bug, fixed it, and replaced the archive on my first post The log wasn't being cleared properly

MYRIAGON Posted July 14, 2005 CID Share Posted July 14, 2005 yeah I redownloaded and tried again and it cleared itself this time when I closed the log. I tried to make a batch file once, I forget what I was trying to do with it , but it crashed my system and I had to reload windows....LOL After that I never really messed around with them again. php Posted July 14, 2005 Author CID Share Posted July 14, 2005 looks good (not the ping times though ) edit: My most recent batch project (besides this one) was to start 4 programs that I use, just by running the batch file. (I didn't want to have them run at Windows startup because they made Windows take a lot longer to fully load)
humorman Posted July 14, 2005 CID Share Posted July 14, 2005 Yea batch files from what I know are pretty easy. All you have to know I think is basic programming. I am not sure but I have made a few myself. And I was just playing around. I never really did it for anything else.

php Posted July 14, 2005 Author CID Share Posted July 14, 2005 My connections so stable it hurts. lol Everyone's looks pretty good (No errors) It would be nice to see someone with an older OS test it... I have no way to test it on anything but XP (dumped Win98SE within months of XP coming out) I'd like to see if it works on ME, 98, maybe 2000 or NT if anyone has them
cholla Posted July 14, 2005 CID Share Posted July 14, 2005 php :test with Windows ME. I DL the zip by save to Temp file in drive C: I extracted both files in the zip into my Temp file. I selected autocheck.bat.This brought up msdos tracert. The checktestmy.log was not put in the Temp folder but in drive C: It did copy in the clipboard even if the msdos screen said there was a problem.I could not get it to save in clipboard.I was able to open the checktestmy.log with notepad & copy & paste that here. php Posted July 14, 2005 Author CID Share Posted July 14, 2005 Well, I can see Windows ME doesn't support a lot of what I have in there... just the basic stuff... not a major issue, but it would be nice to get it to work... I'll have to do some research on that
cholla Posted July 14, 2005 CID Share Posted July 14, 2005 php : I don't think the problem is with your program but with my ISP blocking ping & tracert.I don't get any different results when I run ping or tracert myself without your program.I use clipboard very seldom so I really don't know how well it saves other things. The only problem I saw was it didn't put the checktestmy.log in the same file I DLed the zip to. php Posted July 14, 2005 Author CID Share Posted July 14, 2005 yea, but I can see certain commands don't work in ME like they do in XP... the main part of the program still works right though
