    "Private" Testing

There are certain instances when I am on a certain device that I don't want any of my results saved to a database (I don't need people to have access to that information about this system), and as such it would be nice if I could mark something to inform the site to refuse to save my data to the database. Show me my results and then delete them. Otherwise I'll go back to my traditional testing method, which is downloading large files directly from Microsoft, since that's where the bulk of my download traffic goes anyway. And as for uploads I'll find something. Thanks, EBrown

  2. The title is taken from the Pinned new members post and near the end, it states to just have fun DAMMIT! LOL Anyway, hello there, I'm here due to a number of factors, one of which is my internet speed, comparing my internet speed with others and the general technology that has connected the over 5 billion people on this planet who have an ISP.. I'm sure the other 3 billion either wish they had it or don't even know what the internet is, which would be a shame and personally consider myself one of the lucky few!. I'm into computers, photography and pretty much anything tech related. Cheers!

  3. good news gang - i fixed my own problem. after spending time confirming my pc:cable:router:modem were all running at 1gig and my lan port drivers were up to date, it occurred to me to tweek win7/64 a bit; https://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php i ran this utility, set it to Optimal settings, it changed two dozen registry entries. after a reboot i was testing within 5% of my 100/10 last mile speed. since a lot of people are getting >50m free speed upgrades at comcast and twc, hopefully others will find this thread and see the value of registry optimization. it's a shame that tool developer didn't keep updating it for win8 and beyond.
