i heard somewhere that there is still alot of improvements and such that they left out in beta 1. All of those and a visual upgrade should be coming on beta 2 or later.

i know people will be against me when i say this but 500&600 is too much for a console. Even if it has a blu-ray player. Well for me it is anyway

if u switch to amd ur gonna need a new mother board and either a new hard drive or ur gonna have to reformat the one u have now. You dont have to call microsoft or anything like that. Also a budget would be helpful as we could recomend certain hardware to fit ur budget.

the only good things about am2 is the ddr2 support and also the support for amd upcoming processors(not anytime soon). But in the mean while the conroe will give u immediate results instead of having to wait for amd to come out with their next line. Intel has defenitly won this one.

from the early benchmarks that showed the same results i kinda figured nothing would drastically change for the better, so like most people now, im going for the conroe this round.

thats wut was thinking as well, no other need for them, hope it wont run too hot tho or i will use it as a foot/portable heater.

looks like it got fatter in the process, they were having trouble fitting all the hardware and everything in, so they might have made it slightly bigger.

clear ur internet browser cache and retest, the fact is that you dont have those speeds no matter wut it says. We all wish we did have them but right now its not happeneing.

he said he was which was my initial thought, and to dlewis i unplugged everything and plugged everything back in and nothing, then i unplgged 1 thing at a time and tried after each and go all the way to mobo cpu, and memory and still nothing. One thing i noticed was the thermal paste on the cpu was not done well at all, way too much was used it was squished out the sides and he said he tried to wipe some off. He also said before he cleaned it it was freezing every 5 minutes and he read somwhere it could have been due to dust so thats y he cleaned it. Could it be that the cpu fried? or any oother suggestions would be welcomed but i think its pretty much dead.
