my friend said he was taking his cpu/heatsink out to clean the dust off it. He disconnected the power cord before. When he put it back in, the computer wont start up. Well it starts up, fans running lights on but nothing comes up on the moniter. i tried connecting his moniter to the onboard graphics card but same result. I also tried clearing the cmos then trying but same result. What do u guys think it could be? somthing with his graphics card or his cpu? or what?

i like the sound of that, living in MD really the only server i get good results from is Testmy.net. The other NYC mirror i dont get half the results i should, i like the idea of another good east coast server.

all u should have to do is set ur startup options in the bios to read from the cd first(as apposed to hd), then put in ur windows cd and go from there. Should not need the mobo cd for anything here.

no, whenever u change ur motherboard u WILL have to reformat. So to eagle that really the only way to get it working. I actually had a friend who did the same thing, it wouldnt start up with the new mobo and same hd, so we reformated and installed windows and bam worked like a charm.
