Hey Scams, If you have Rogers' Lite tier, then your speeds would be right on: From Rogers' web site: (Link) "Surf and email at speeds much faster than dial-up. Modem set-up of up to 384 Kbps download and 96 Kbps upload. " You will have to check your bill or call them to find out what tier you have. The reason it may say 30.91% of your hosts average is exactly that; the average of all Rogers users here is just higher than your speed. But if that speed is what you are paying for, then there is no problem. If you are paying for their higher speed tier, then you do have an issue.

Welcome to the forum, Scam- They want you to read and follow the advice from the two following threads: http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=2097.0 http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=3924.0 It will take some time, but these are full of very good tips and info for speed help. After you go through these, post back here.

I only rarely have an issue with Firefox, that's when I hit the 'open in IE' button. BTW, my work PC has the same slow loading issue with java scripts, and it is 100% Microsoft. But, I'm not trying to fuel the FF vs IE fire, it doesn't really matter either way to me.

The "Off Network" radio is referring to a built in walkie talkie that is similar to an FRS or GMRS radio. It does not use the Nextel network to connect, it is used to connect directly to someone with another radio of the same type nearby. That is at least what the Nextel rep explained to me a few months ago, and it makes sense to me. Otherwise, the regular Nextel Direct Connect (via Nextel's network) 2-way is available in both.

OK teacher, how about voila! :haha: I guess it doesn't make much sense when I think about it. Have you heard of any fixes for the FF scripts, or am I just SOL?

Damn, I thought you were going to tell me that he "Gets Around". Well, then Ron is off again on his trek. Time to don my clerical collar and continue my search. Maybe someday I'll find my own little netmasta... (I am beginning to frighten myself) -
I kind of figured that, I haven't really tried to improve it yet. PC is a 2.53GHz P4 with 1GB Ram. So must be something going on with software.

Yeah, I'll be the 250lb masculine looking blonde woman with the deep voice and hairy legs named RON. So, this netmasta; is he single? edit: added quote so this post made sense -
I use FF 95% of the time. But, I know it is not 100% compatible with all sites. What I like about it is that someone wrote an IE extension for FF, and when I have these issues, I just click the Open in IE button, and walla, it opens in IE. Problem solved. I don't like or dislike either browser, but I DO like FF's tabbed browsing features.(more so than IE7 beta, so far) A couple FF cons for me: 1. Resource hog 2. Anything running Java ext (ie: weather radar) takes like 3 minutes to run. - annoying.

I am trying to click the 'OK' button over and over again, but it won't work? :haha: That is my family for you, they would have pressed OK long before reading and thinking. I'm dreading the day they copy the little X (exit) button and make that easily execute the code. I don't even begin to read any pop up, I just close it. -
Interesting.... Tony, the narrator, is I think a little lite in the loafers - if you know what I mean. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

:haha: And that's saying it lightly, REVOLUTIONIZED. Markie09 - how about opening them in MS paint, and then choose 'image' - 'stretch/skew' and change Horizontal and Vertical to like 25% of original. Then save with a new file name, or whatever you want. That's one easy way of shrinking them. BTW, nice clean set-up.......

I think these are a great idea and great for developing nations. I would go for the 'double price' idea, buy one give one. Reminds me of the old days: *cranks up laptop Grandpa - "Hello, Google? I am looking for a blonde, 34 double D's, 105 pounds" Google - "Found her, I'll pach you through - thank you"

Did I miss something? 1.06 MB/s = ~8680 kbps. Looks like you are getting some good burst speeds AgentGod with smaller files, but your larger downloads are still looking better than Comcasts usual 8mbps. I would be darn happy at 8680kbps
-
If your DL speed is 183kBps, then you are good (1 Byte = ~8bits) 183 * 8 = 1464 (rough calculation, I won't go into detail. Tables are here) I am ill and the math will give me a headache

Here's an interesting up and coming technology. Now I'll need to buy that 32" HD monitor for my PC. CableCARD technology for Media Center-based PCs

Man, you've got me. Did you try IE just for fun? Or, try a different dns server -here's mine: 68.13.16.25 & 68.13.16.30 It's probably something really simple that we're missing. But, it acts like it's being blocked by the ISP, (which is COX if I recall, same as me)

Your running XP, correct? If so, try flushing your locally saved dns cache with this line from command prompt: ipconfig /flushdns Lets see if that helps direct it to the right place.
