hey guys got a wireless laptop question.
resopalrabotnick replied to GIXXERGUY6's topic in Make it Faster...
for the different laptops i think it is the different antennae used in the models. the pcmcia card probably has the best reception because it uses up more space for a bigger antenna. -
what kind of wireless are you talking about anyhow.
-
77. then when i understood how it worked 67.

if you are looking to spend 450 dollars or so you might as well go with a low end new one from dell, hp or similar. it will be pretty up to date and you will have warranty and service. on www.dell.com for example scroll to the bottom of the homepage and select the country (india) then it will show you the offers in your local currency and give you a local toll free number to call for help with ordering. if you don't know a lot about computers i would not recommend buying a used one since you would be dependant on others to solve any problems with it. with a new one you will get a year or so of warranty and service.
-
why would you want to buy the computer in the us? the shipping will kill you. go to the indian sites for the major sellers like dell or hp and see what they have to offer. (this is assuming that you are wanting to buy the comp in india, which is what i understood from your other posts you were looking to do.)

like others have said, buy large electronics at sams or costco. you can not beat their return policies. so you might have to hook up with a buddy that has a van to move the tv to the house. you'll need someone to help you carry and mount the thing anyhow.
-
even if you end up with 500 kbps speeds some of the time the latency would be much better along with your upload and you would save the cost for the sat payment. bottom line would probably be cheaper.
-
you will need to go online or call the local office for the vendor you choose. you will find the numbers for the vendor on their website. you have to choose thecountry you are buying from, in your case india, and they will have a website tailored to their offers for that country, and probably in your language too. http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/default.aspx?c=in&l=en&s=gen&~ck=cr this is the indian site for dell. it is in english however.

well, talk to the guy that has the house closest to you and have him get it then hook up a directional wireless from there.
-
:2funny: :2funny: :2funny: but anyhow, yeah, you should be able to get a good deal from one of the major vendors. don't forget to buy the extended onsite service. it's usually well worth the added cost.
-
yeah, can always hook up an external monitor to it and useit as a quiet desktop...
-
ouch. depends on what the laptop cost then....
-
hey tommie, .2 miles is close enough to have them hook it up there and then cable the way to your house yourself... or set up a wireless with a directional antenna...

is that the official 40k member? and i've resorted to nicks like that myself on other sites when all the ones i wanted were already taken. it's called the bang your head on the keyboard nick. then you forget to write it down and can never login again. -
you should contact toshiba directly to find out what your options are regarding replacement of the screen.
-
the name mentioned might be the district attorney (prosecutor) for the case? no idea.
-
the person testifying on behalf of the party mentioned is testifying to support the parties position. say you saw a murder. you would be called as a witness to testify on behalf of the prosecution stating what happened etc. (am neither a lawyer and am sleepy. so just look it up on yahoo if you need the legalistic definition)

what do you mean shortened? like the incredible shrinking forum? http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=17706.msg195453;topicseen#new

can anyone explain to me why they reelected the bum?

either bury from your house or hang in trees. but bury across highway. or string under the powerline if it crosses it. then just splice into the trunk on a pole. don't try this at home. i'm what you'd call an expert. edit: you use a gas-powered saw of course
-
get yourself a circular saw with a blade for masonry or rock. then steal some traffic cones. block off the highway one lane at a time in the middle of the night, slice into it about 1 inch deep with the saw and lay the cable into it. seal it with tile grout so it doesn't come back out. when you get to the trunk just dig it up and cut it. wait for the repair crew to show up and splice it then dig it up again, open their splice and add your cable. then get someone in town to subscribe to their service so you get an activated modem and hook it up at your house. voila!
