Hey slower, I AM on the consumer "El Cheapo". ghostmaster says my speeds have something to do with the transponder or something like that. I figure I will not gripe as long as it stays like it is.

Damned these smileys are cute. Slower try using the 2992 file test straight up. I get better speeds with it instead of the smart test. In fact on my U/L test I get faster just using the 579 test straight up. Grandpa, I seldom check. It appears to be @ 52 signal strength.

778 is pretty slow slower. Even for hughes.

One thing about satelite I really don't understand. The others are controlled by distance and such. But it seems all satelite should be about the same. Except for advertised speeds of course. Just my thoughts.

So that is where the satelite troubled folks go. 5 pages for the last 30 days. I have to wonder why so many have so much trouble. That one guy thinks his is fast with an "1172 Kbps about 1.2 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB)" and the "New Firefox 2.0 and Speedtweaks - Speed Explodes " @ 6:14am. That is not that fast for a 6000. http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,17145558 I think a clean and light comp is the best for speed on satelite. I pull an easy 1500+ at that time of day. Heck I just pulled a 1226 Kbps (tested with 2992 kB) @ 8:05pm. ^^^ Maybe I am just lucky. *crosses fingers*

It is satelite, we don't have real speeds like the rest of you. Heck I have 500/50 myself. I don't think I hardly see that low on theD/L. And I seldom see the U/L.

I agree, it is worth the price, for sure. And I am glad you found that, I had not noticed it til you mentioned it. It definately works and not a bad product at all. I have never had any trouble removing Windows Defender.
