  1. Like dlewis said. Clear your cache, disk clean up, defrag, and restart your modem. Daily items for me. Does make a difference in speeds and efficiency.
  2. If you have done nothing wrong, don't worry if you are. It is likely that by doing the work that you have in this great site TMN, that you are just running a much finer tuned machine than most. So don't worry, just be happy and enjoy.
  3. OOOoooooh, I hated firefox. Slowed down my comp a bunch last time. Just wondered. I remember trying that new media player a while back and remember I did not want to get used to it. And IE7 being more secure, and newer I figured I might give it a go. But if I had to do a total recovery, it would not be worth it in my book, at all.
  4. TIm that is so rocking, I'll bet you don't miss DSL right now.
  5. What happened?????????????? Some speeds there Tim. Just did a test myself, and got nowhere near weird speeds. Do a file D/L if you can. Enjoy.
  6. I probably won't understand the project, but good luck ISP geek. Any idea how hard it would be to go back to IE6 if I preferred it that way after installing Fallow Earth??
  7. Wow, I am sorry. I just tried the link and it did not work for me. Anybody have the 20 mb test file : It must have been changed after the redo of the site recently. Anyway, nice speeds there.
  8. Good luck, I may need your results later. And don't forget to post the results, please.
  9. Thought the same thing at first Roco. Good luck amc11890.
  10. Nice speeds there Arthur1234 and welcome to the forum Try this test: http://www.testmy.net/tools/test/d_load.php?&st=st&tt=1&ta=1&top=000&out_src=20MB Clear you cache first, it will take you directly into the test.
  11. Don't assume, just start over from scratch.
  12. Dang, nice speeds there ccr1958 Can I come over and play on it
  13. Did you try reinstalling slowly like cholla suggested ISPgeek
  14. Welcome to the forum melynnie2002  It would appear to be a 1.5 DSL package to me @ a 1056 Kbps speed. And the 1013 kB file was probably too small a file to test from. Try the 2992 file test on the same test page. And don't use the smart test as it will give you slower results. Also use the 579 for your upload test. Now little lady have you read this? Achieve the Best Performance Out of Your Computer http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257 Repost you new speeds and we will go from there. Also are you working through a wireless router? If so plug directly into the modem without the router in between to see if you get any different speeds. And if you post a pic in TestMy-The New-What do you look like-post your mug you probably will get much faster help. (really I just want to see what you look like.) http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-7085
  15. That sounds cracked up Roco, some ball game you joined I guess.
  16. I would stick with Dlewis and ISP geek on that one. You have not even seen the item, and had to go through extra trouble to even get him on it. Worry about you, then he can wait like you did now. He was not too worried about you before!
  17. Just have your wife call mine shug, we could work on them togather. *not sure if that scame out right, bet I will know by morning*
  18. Never figured beer had that much variety CA3LE. I have learned much about beer today. And they say geeks only know about computers.
  19. So in other words feed it slowly, and have patience. I have seen that work in other instances also. And where the heck have you been hiding cholla??
  20. OK maybe I should rephrase it. Do you think it would make a difference with problems on my store bought one?? Just curious on your thoughts.
  21. Just curious, is that a homebuilt and will that make much of a differnce in an install?
  22. I was hoping IE7 would be easier to do than that. Are you sure it was done with a reputable source?
  23. You mean in as a totally recovery? Wow, and we are talking about IE7 the final product?
