  3. Pretty much my point, I guess that it might be too much. But I guess I worry too much about putting others in danger, and forget I wass young once too. Go have fun. If I find an article on that swap, I will post it later.
  4. Like dlewis23 said you can go much larger, in fact you could actually go as large as a all out 460. But you need to locate a 460 truck oil pan, a necessity to make it fit. But I was trying to keep it simple and stock looking. A 429 or 460 would be balls to the wall. That would be ultimate. Just find a whole car with the 460 and tranny in it. Many needed parts for cheap. Here is the two cars I purchased on e-bay. Fairlane for $2500 and Galaxie for $299. Galaxie has everything needed to make the swap, including the heavier brakes, cooling, and suspension. And it requires no emission's. It even came with an aluminum intake. My toy I need to get around to, someday. Under $3000 right now. And emissions legal. (what emissions?) 67 Fairlane*70 Galaxie Brougham The Fairlane has drum brakes and a 289.
  5. Glad to have you aboard cordell383. Nice speeds.
  6. W4DRA would you try this test for me please? It goes straight to the test. 5983 File Test. That is truly fast.
  7. Definately much better than weather.com.
  8. Welcome to the forum Nevers OK, first off what are your advertised speeds. I assume you are on DSL. 1.5 maybe? Try posting with the 2992 file test, so we can see your progress. http://www.testmy.net/tools/test/d_load.php Second have you read this? http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257 Now post another test. Third have tweaked it with cable-nut yet? http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-1013 Now post another test. You should be running much better by this point.
  9. Nice speeds funkymint. And welcome to the forum What's your uploads like?
  10. Welcome to the forum lalalax3 I hope they can fix it for you.
  11. First my apologies for being wrong on the size, it is 3" taller. But it will still fit and be unnoticable. http://mustang50magazine.com/techarticles/18818/ I tried to think as if my own daughter were in your shoes. Or if that is too much work, here is a simle bolt on article where you just partially have to break the engine seals. They took a stock 5.0 and got it from 14.47 seconds at 93.6 mph damned near into the 12's. I found it very informative and interesting. 5.0-Liter Upgrades http://mustang50magazine.com/howto/22001/ Step 1: The First Round http://mustang50magazine.com/howto/22001/index1.html Step 2: Breaking Into The 13s http://mustang50magazine.com/howto/22001/index2.html Step 3: Heading For The 12s http://mustang50magazine.com/howto/22001/index3.html I hope that one helps, it seems where you are headed. Fairly simple and inexpenpensive.
  12. ahwoogamac if you have a cap of 11mbps, why not? Try reading here: http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257 If your machine is clean then try tweaking it here: http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-1013 Don't forget to back up your original settings though! How rude of me, welcome to the forum
  13. Like dlewis23 said, if you have a 5.0 the insurance will be cheaper from the smaller engine. And put a 351 in its place, they will never know. You have to be damned good to tell the difference. I took out a 390 from my 68 mustang and swapped it for a 427 ford. They had no idea. Gained 130 HPand 37 cu. in. Lost about 2 mpg. Fair swap I thought.
  14. Yep, cheapest way to build a road rocket today. Add a couple goodies and gone. I would prefer replacing the 5.0 with a 351 but whatever. Extra 49 cubes never hurt anyone. I forgot to mention the 351 Windsor is the same size block, easy cubic inch gain.
  15. I forgot to mention richcornucopia that the Vivran seemed to have more kick than the NoDoz back in 1978. It may different now. And Whiteline Fever is a reality by the way. Do not drive after the first sunrise. It starts getting scary as hell.
  16. Personally I have little use for space travel myself. I feel they should at least 1/2 of what they on space travel into ocean research. We have very little real idea what is down there. And the research might help with the earth. Take care of what you have first, before polluting something else. As far as what you said resopalrabotnick it would make a nice display. I mostly enjoy the take-off, all that raw power. But it would ruin the little show.
  17. resopalrabotnic always the card (joker). But what a display it will be!! But so damned expensive!! $$ So you should be able to the display from PR, No?
  18. What is your upload speeds? Welcome to the forum robfirth.
  19. Actually cholla I will have to stand behind the pcv as the only good emmissions part ever installed on a car. They removed lower crankcase pressure and lightened up the pressure on the lower side of the rotating assembly. And removed some of the blow-by. Or is that what the road-draft tube did also?
  20. Work, that bites. Wait I thought you were the owner?
  21. My partner suggests going back to incredimail. I always thought it was kinda cute. Will I have to redo my e-mail in this forum?
