well i got a router and firewall so maybe that is slowing me down too, but it should not cuz it blocks some attempts for connections to my pc therefore saving speed (i think)

just download new versions only from limewire's website.. i know of so many 851 kb infected files on limewire.. and so many ppl have them

I just bought a new wireless combo (BYTECC wireless combo pro or something.. compatible with Windows/Office XP).. I bought it cuz it was the cheapest one for not being returned/fixed. Right now, sometimes, a right click menu would appear outta nowhere on my desktop or in whatever program is in the foreground.. I did not install the programs that came with the mouse and keyboard because they work with the windows drivers pretty well (other than this ).. Anyone got any advice or ideas why this is happening? Thanks for any replies

do you use a router though? that could be one of my speed problems

i haven't installed any cablenut settings (just blank windows settings).. I've tried Van Buren's settings but sometimes my speeds drop lower with them or there is no change in speed.

just go into cable/dsl folder, then to xp/2000 cable_dsl, MSS1460, and then choose the closest file that matches ur dsl line's speeds (DSL 6000/768).. To load it, open Cablenut, click File -> Load Custom.. and select the file (6000/768 DSL), click save settings to registry and reboot as other members said.. You can experiment with other settings to see which ones give u the best performace.. Cablenut does not help my internet connection, but it does wonders for many ppl

where do u live man? im in toronto and i get under 3mbps speeds on the same rogers package as u

I use Firefox and IE and i got no problems with them.. I get about the same speeds with either one

First of all, please post your advertised package speed just so we know.. Second of all, download Cablenut and then download the latest of Van Buren's settings from this forum topic.. Did you have such problems with speed before or did this happen just now?

If your advertised package speed is 768 dsl, I think that's as far as your speeds could go.

Yea.. Spysweeper is good.. And its got the realtime spyware protection feature which is really useful as well

that happened to me too.. right now my monitor is at 1152x864 resolution and when i switch on to the TV, some portion displayed on my TV and monitor gets cut-off.. Still good feature though

Does anyone know if I can charge higher mah batteries in a charger that does not support them? I want to charge my 900 mah AAA rechargables in my Energizer charger which unfortunately supports only up to 800 mah AAA batteries.. It says that it charges those 800mah AAAs in 8 hrs, so if I put the 900 mah AAAs, will it charge them in 9 hours or will it not charge them at all since it doesn't support their high mah level..? I have another charger which I used to charge them with, but it does a fast charge and I want to compare how much more battery life I'll get with a normal (full) charge but I don't want to do anything to damage the batteries or the charger (or to cause damage to interior of my house.. lol ).. Any sure (confident) replies would be appreciated

Download CCleaner, run it and retest again.. I bet the speeds are not gonna be the same if you are not paying at least 500$/month

one thing we watched in history is the movie "Life is Beautiful".. It doesn't focus that much on the tragedies happening in the camps, but it shows how it supposedly was in there.. Not that disturbing while still delivering the messages across.. Anyone else seen that?
