i installed fedora core 5 on this computer, but while updating the kernal - during install of the updated files, everything got messed up - it didnt update the current install, but created its own LOL - very wierd....it corrupted the mbr by itself this is largely due to the fact that nvraid isnt supported at its best on linux - ...i guess ill have to wait tilll i buy another hard drive to attempt the install again - untill then ill have to use my other comp if i wanna get away from microsoft

i bought a 165 yesterday....it is still on sale for 219 dollars ! good buy !

and also not to mention that while its stock speed is only 1.8ghz - people have been overclocking it in the 3.0ghz range with no problems whatsoever (on air - assuming its a good stepping - like any other processor)

how about the dual core opteron 165 - if you ask me....that processor has been around for a long time - the quality and the capability of it is incredible - id say that particular cpu has the best price/performance ratio

i do not trust any benchmark before the processor is released - as far as im concerned, that is all done in specific top of the line equipment / controlled environment - untill i see user reviews and what people actually think of them, i wont be amazed at all who knows, this hype can all be a plan to get more people to go intel instead of amd - the quality of the processor may not have anything to do with it ....and also - i have only seen 2 reviews for the conroe chip - that is still just ONE processor - and as far as im concerned, the both reviewers might have used the same exact cpu ( ) which would prove little long story - short....untill i see some reviews done when the processor actually is released, i wont be excited....heh
