  1. Reboot your computer with the windows disk in the drive and when it says press any key to boot from cd, press something and the windows setup will start. You may have to change the boot order but most likely if you put the cd in a reboot the press any... will show up.
  2. I dont have all of the parts yet but the last stuff should get here tommorow and I can put it together over the weekend. My experience with pc building has been a good one, I've been building for a few years now and love it, you save money, get to customize what you want, and of course you learn a lot. Specs of what I'll soon be putting together Opteron 148 2.2GHz (Hopefully I'll be able to hit atleast 2.7 but I got a poor stepping) 400watt Coolmax ps (Silent) Biostar socket 939 6100 T series Nvidia 6600gt pcie 16 1 gig Mushkin 2 160gig ide 133 Custom water cooling system And my cg group 9011c10 case which I hope to do some modification on and fit all my water cooling stuff inside it. Edit:Hmmm, that reminds me I won't be needing some of the stuff I have now. Anybody want to buy a pentium 4 3ghz or athlon xp 2400?
  3. No, sounds cool though, what is it.
  4. I've got no idea of how much radiator power I need for an opteron so I just got the biggest one that fits 3 120mm fans, so hopefully its pretty cool. I will also be doing some mods on the case so that the radiator is at the bottom of the case sucking in cool air through the radiator, the air then gets hot, rises, and is sucked out the top by the 80mm fan up there. Only time will tell how well it will perform, hopefully dangerden shows tommorow and I can get started.
  5. Bet if you overclock this amd it could be as fast or faster than your intel, better for gaming too.
  6. You can get a cheap motherboard on ebay.
  7. 1.66 amd is pretty good and could compete pretty well with intel processors in the 2ghz range.
  8. Oh, you want to make the computer faster, I thought you meant internet because you posted a pic of your cablenut settings.
  9. Well if you're allready getting 6 then you are above your cap and probably have the settings fine.
  10. 16gigs of ram is supported, and you could really have 4 cpus cause that boards supports dual core.
  11. Yep its possible and I'm sure something like that is being sold today. Its probably for either dual xeons of opterons with a lot of room for ram, generally boards like that are used in servers. Edit: heres some info on that board http://www.iwill.net/product_2.asp?p_id=91.
  12. Still waiting on danger den, should come tommorow, but everything else is here .
  13. My vote would be for kareem.
  14. Smoothwall is like an operating system of sorts correct? So you install it as the main os and within that you can configure proxy server, firewall and other things. Can it also do nat so I wouldn't need a router? Edit:This may interest you if you didn't know already but the smoothwall corporate server includes: SmoothTunnel IPSec and L2TP VPN Gateway module (for site-to-site and mobile "Road Warrior" user connections) SmoothGuardian Web content filtering module (block pornography, violence, racial-hatred, non-work related content etc.) SmoothTraffic Bandwidth Management (Quality of Service) module to maximise Internet connection performance SmoothMonitor Firewall monitoring and reporting module SmoothRule Internet Access Control module (block access to non-work related services like games and instant messaging) SmoothHost Server hosting support module Edit: how would isa server be vs smoothwalls proxy solution?
  15. Wow sounds like you got a sweet setup, so this is the apartment that you live in also? You think you could give me a basic walkthrough/guide cause that sounds like something I want to do for my network. Is all I need an old pc and a switch, or do I need the nas too?
  16. Possibly based on congestion, or the number of users that each mirror is currently serving...?
  17. You might need to change the boot order in your bios.
  18. What is the model number and your provider?
  19. Well pray that they can't fix it then so you can get a new one .
  20. You could call up sony and troubleshoot it, if you do that though you gotta be really patient.
  21. Any drivers like that for nvidia?
  22. First packaged arrived today from crazy pc with the pump, relay kit, coolant, and reservoir, 2 more to go newegg and dangerden.
  23. I didn't think he knew how. But that would be a good idea if you never have before is to build a computer. You could probably keep some of the parts from your current sony and put them in a new pc to save some money.
