  1. Because I don't have cable through Time Warner I pay a reseller, Earthlink. I pay 72.95 a month, which is more than I want to pay but I want the speed enough to pay for it.
  2. Where I'm are (Western Ohio) Time Warner has a monopoly so I'm stuck with. I've got their premium package of 8000 down and 512 up.
  3. Off topic but are you in Kokomo Indiana? I have some relatives there.
  4. Yea, just checked their site and they don't offer packages that fast yet.
  5. Because it means your ip won't change, this very helpful but not necessary if you are running some sort of server. If you aren't running a server or anything I would call your isp and tell them you want a dynamic ip and don't want to have to pay extra for the static one anymore.
  6. Wow, how is your upload?
  7. The hardrive might have overheated and you have some bad sectors now.
  8. I hope you live out in the country .
  9. Allright, I'll look there. So you think I wont be able to upgrade the processor, because the motherboard probably doesn't support any faster?
  10. I looked up a few of those and they are from Asia Pacific Network Information Centre. Do you have a router? When this ips appeared were you using an p2p progams?
  11. Allright, my friend just got a new laptop for his birthday. Before he got his new one he had this Hp Omnibook 6100 http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,22967,00.asp. I told him I'd give him 50 bucks to take it off his hands and he agreed. Right now it has an old battery that last no longer than 15-20 minutes, a 20 gig hardrive, and 384 megs of ram, so I thought it was a good deal. MY question is what can I do to upgrade it. While I'm very knowlagable in computer building and upgrading I know almost nothing about upgrading a laptop. Is it possible to get a new processor that would work with it, new hardrive, more ram? All suggestions are welcome.
  12. WHAT ARE YOU DOING, YOU'RE WASTING GAS! Just kidding, was that you driving?
  13. You seem to be one of the lucky dway users .
  14. This is the same gpu with good reviews for a lot less http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?submit=PROPERTY&SubCategory=48&propertycodevalue=679:10550&bop=and&Order=price
  15. Because you purchased a serial number right ?
  16. I had a friend who had his Honda stolen and wasn't as lucky as you. They completely gutted it, engine, sound system, seats, everything. Don't forget that you could be in a lot worse predicament right now, like not even having a car that even runs.

  18. If your going sli I'd go with at least 500kW .
  19. So your upload is 384?
  20. Picking up a cheap one is probably going to disapoint you, the quality of the recorded tv shows will most likely be grainy and not very clear. I would recommend investing a little bit to get this one, http://shop3.outpost.com/product/4387745?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG , I have only heard good things about this tuner. You could always pick up a cheap one at first and if you like the idea of recording shows, media center, ect then you can return the el cheapo and go get the ati wonder elite.
  21. It all depends on what hardware you currently have. The biggest reason for media center is using it like a tivo. You can have tv shows and mp3s on it and have it hooked up to your tv to play these files. If you have a tv tuner than yea I would say its worth it, because you can record tv shows and watch them on your tv. The old 10 gig hardrive isn't going to give you much space for tv shows and music, so if you are interested in setting up a mcpc then I would recommend picking up at least a 100 gig.
  22. If you want to check out some more power supplies, check out this link http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?submit=PROPERTY&SubCategory=58&propertycodevalue=1314:14178&bop=and&Order=rating . Newegg will have some better prices than compusa and you can read peoples reviews of the power supply.
  23. Thats cool, what are you using to broadcast your radio? And what kind of connection do you have, and how fast do you need to broadcast?
