Yeah, it does effect it to a point. If you have a really slow computer it can start to slow down the connection ... if it's slow enough it just can't process what's comming in fast enough. But for most setups it doesn't make too much difference Nice speed for DirecWay

Building this section as we speak. I have no estimated time of release but members will be able to submit review on whatever they like. When someone submits a review I (and other mods/admins) will look at the review and then format it, make sure the claims are valid, and get pictures to go with the review. All authors of reviews will have their name right at the top of the review (so everyone knows the author) -- I am hoping to get maybe a team of over 10 people that will write reviews for the site. -- I will post more info when I'm done building it

Should be all good now... by the way, on the quick reply section the "return to topic" is now bound by your profile setting... so if you have se in your "look and layout" setting to 'return to topic' it will check that box for you.. otherwise it won't php ... I'm sure you would like the script to do this over in your forum .. change what you gave me in ./Sources/Display.php to the following... <label for="check_back"><input type="checkbox" name="goback" id="check_back"' . ($context['back_to_topic'] || !empty($options['return_to_post']) ? ' checked="checked"' : '') . ' value="1" class="check" /> ' . $txt['back_to_topic'] . '</label> Works like a charm... (I don't think I'm going to bother with the buddylist again...)

that mirror has now been removed

By the way... We take criticism just fine... why the hell do you think I have a section of the forum where you can make suggestions ( https://testmy.net/forum/b-4 ) And in this case criticism isn't even needed... VanBuren is on Bredband on a 10Mbps connection.. he pulls more than 9Mbps to testmy.net from Sweden. My servers are optimized for over seas transmission ~~~~~~~

I looked at my ban log and it looks to me like a ban was warrented... "this site is **** i get total different reading when i use the test here compared to the swedish government test site for connection speed according to this site im only working on 20% dowload and 40% upload but when i do the test at the offical swedish government site for testing broad band speed im operating at 97% download and upload 10Mb/s?????????? what the fck" In my opinion, if you wanted help there are a thousand better ways to word that conversation. You may have been frustrated but there was no need to take it out on any of our users... if you wanted help then ASK for it don't demand it. If you say something in PM like "This site is sh*t" then you know what......... we are going to assume you don't want to be here! If you look at our terms of use you will see... On top of the message being rude... you sent it to many of our users (though I haven't looked into the logs to see who you sent it to yet.. I just saw that thread) -- the messages were unsolicited and therefor that would have got you banned for spam... your lucky that your not being reported to Bredbands Bolaget If you want help... FINE, that's why I made the site. But if you want to talk sh*t then don't let the door hit you on the way out, we don't need negative people here anyway.

Okay, I worked about another hour on it... trust me there is allot more to that little scale than you guys think. Not only does the scale have to be dynamic but the comparison (DSL, CABLE, ETC...) has to also be dynamic... then I have to implement it on all portions of the site while maintaining the core script in one location (so not to be redundant)... I need to take a little break though I'm getting script fever from looking at black and white too much.
-
It's actually been scripted to be more dynamic than what is showing right now... I can turn on as many levels as I want, I currently have scales made for 1000Kbps / 2000Kbps / 4000Kbps / 8000Kbps / 160000Kbps but only 4-16 are turned on. I do plan on putting these scales on every section of the website but it's actually a pretty big task... I was hoping to work more on that today.

Yep... that's America... Oxycontin is actually only like heroin when it's abused. Only when it's crushed (and snorted), chewed or injected is Oxycontin bad... Oxycontin is a very useful drug in the fight of cronic pain, 12 hours of constant and safe relief in one pill... It's just got a bad name lately because of people abusing it. Now Dilaudid... that's more than heroin, that's why Elvis loved it... haha. There are still a couple of people on the federal marijuana program, they get supplied to them 40 marijuana ciggarettes/day for the rest of their life. On Pen and Teller's BS they showed one of the guys that was on that program and he was smoking a joint in front of the white house... and it was legal. I can't see how there are still people out there that don't understand the medical properties that marijuana has. ehhhhh

It was a quick trial run, generated some revenue but wasn't worth my time. I think the company didn't have very many advertisers because I rarely even saw the ads myself... and I was looking for them...... I only ran it for a few hours, It looked like nasty over advertising anyway -
More changes are sure to come in the following months with that section, But I have about 100 other pots in the fire that need attention

Alrighty, issue appears to NOT be an issue with my end. Although I still need to revisit my scripting because there is an issue with Firefox. It seems to me that firefox has upload speed limitations for the protocol (not really a protocol but that's closest word I could think of) I use for the upload test. IE is accurate all the way to my cap of 122 kB/s (1Mbps). Firefox fails at 75 kB/s (614 Kbps) -- I have to now figure out a work around (if one even exists without resorting to lame JAVA Applet). For now... if your line is over 75 kB/s or 614 Kbps test with IE ~~ as you will see in the attachments testmy.net is VERY accurate for upload speed. Though I don't have a line over 1Mbps upload to test from so development above that is very hard unless I take one of the servers down and limit connectivity to check various line speeds (remotely... I imagine that's very hard in RHE Linux) The screenshots below will show you the slue of tests I ran through. I used NetLimiter to control how fast my machine uploaded so I could test the various speeds with high accuracy. You can figure that the NetLimiter program may be +-1kB/s so for the results that are off by 1kB... consider those 100% accurate. I tested at 24kB/s - 48kB/s - 64kB/s - 80kB/s - 96kB/s - 128kB/s -- Internet Explorer passed all tests but as I said before Firefox Failed at 75kB/s (seeming to stick at 75kB/s... which leads me to believe FF has some sort of internal limit... I have lots of research to do ) --- Now for the weirdest part... when disabling the NetLimiter I run into another problem, connection drops to 60kB/s, after re-enabling (setting at 128kB/s) it's accurate again!??!?! I will keep you guys posted (attachments at https://testmy.net/forum/attachments/upload_testing/ )
