Werd... yeah, there was a shit load of bugs I've had to work out over the last 48 hours after the mirror addition. There was more to that addition than it appears. I had to make it function the way it does without having duplicate information. If I just through a clone of the site online search engines would ding me for the duplicate content. Thanks for helping me spot that, one of those variable specific errors that I could duplicate on my end no matter how hard I tried. But we nailed it down in the end, working on that also helped me refine allot more code so it was a good bug in the end. I've worked all day and all night until the Sun came up for pretty much the past week straight. God, I hope I'm at a point that I can take a little break. System seems to be kicking out number the way it should, no anomalies... so I might get to have a weekend! WOO HOO!

I should have a default option tomorrow. I'm seeing nearly 2400 results dating back to Mid-May for your username https://testmy.net/quickstats/dedelano -- if you're not seeing everything it may be because a filter of some sort is on. Clicking the default button will reset your search options. This is because the database search options carry over, so if you search for the past 7 days... next time you load your stats "7 Days" will automatically load for you. When you run the auto test and the test completes it defaults to "1 Day" - it doesn't change that to your default BUT if you happen to query from that page it will set the default to "1" because that's what's entered on that page. Just click default and only the necessary cookies will be reset... I added that button because although that normally saves time, it does sometimes need to be reset.

Proves that you don't have to test on a server 50 miles from you --- because this is the EXACT same system on both servers. ... Lots of good points... We're testing your internet... not showing you fireworks... stunning graphics get in the way of the test more than anything you've described.. native or not, it's a waste of resources. Why? So it can look pretty. That's the furthest concern from my mind... If you're waiting it's because of the page loads in between things right now... I'll explain in the next section... Easily solved with more development... development time that I think is better spent on the web application. ...work in some AJAX. Problem solved. ... It's not like its even a problem right now. Seriously, how long do you wait for your results page.... if it takes THAT long then you're getting to see a SECOND benchmark while you wait for something to load that shouldn't take more than a second. Even when I'm on the shittiest connections the results load instantly for me, so I really don't know what you're talking about there. That's true... but why not just build a really bad ass web application... then encapsulate it within a lightweight app that renders the browser? If exposure is the only real benefit... ... I want to build iOS and Android apps for TestMy... but I still don't get it. Why use an app for something that can be done through the browser? Is it that hard to type "testmy.net" --- hell, in many cases you can just type "testmy"... why waste your local resources? Let my server run most of the program for you. ...am I missing something? Am I getting too old to get it? Do people like having a bunch of crap they need to update all the time? I just hope that the world realizes one day that you don't need apps... AT ALL... FOR ANYTHING. (except offline) That goes for personal computers as well. Everything can be done through the browser, especially more so in the future. I'm trying my hardest to design this website to just run in any web browser and I'm constantly evolving the program. If you're looking for a speed test app for your Android or iOS device you'd do better to just open your default web browser and bookmark testmy.net... easy as that. Nothing to download, no security permissions to mess with and updates are transparent. So please, let's open this for discussion. Why waste your disk space? If you can sell me on the idea of why TestMy needs a mobile app, I'll build it. I played with uncapping in the late 90's and early 00's.. via TFTP crap, old school. But I haven't wanted to do that for years, I don't want to get caught and banned... I have a business to run and I need the fastest internet. In Phoenix Cox is hands down the best. ... it was fun to trick the system though. I was doing it back then to uncap the lame ass 128 Kbps upload... BOOM, symmetrical 3Mbps! -- sounds so slow these days. lol

Thanks for letting me know. It was actually correct... I just hadn't synced it with the dc server. I'm going to have to setup rsync to make sure the servers are synced. You should be all good now. Basically how I have it setup is the SUBmenu will give you links to dc.testmy.net -- the main menu (dark gray) escapes to the main server. You guys will get it. I try to design things to the point that it's self explanatory... but it's hard because as a designer you have to design things for people that don't always think the same way as you. Let me know if you spot anything else... I'm pretty confident that I squashed this one though, funny thing is... I already had done that, I just only uploaded it to one server......... the server that doesn't even need those variables. (lol, look at my max speed right now)

No problem, I need more servers. You just gave me a good excuse to do it. Yeah, I'm still working on it. There's going to most likely be issues and bugs with it for a while. It a humungous upgrade... luckily I've written the prerequisites for this already and have been planning it in the back-end over the past 14 months... --- I think I can just clone this server I setup today and open more from here. Maybe one more in the US, in Seattle... one in Amsterdam and One in Singapore. That should cover most of the worlds population... don't get me wrong, they can still test to the US server... I feel that's a great benchmark. But they'll also be able to test on a server closer to home, using TestMy.net's technology. ... so yeah, your post opened a can of worms. As for Dallas, I'm sure they'll fix it promptly. They actually replied a loooong time ago but I got off on a tangent setting up that server. Anyways, here's their response. I've given them your subnet to trace. If they have a problem on their end they'll fix it. I'll let you know when I know more.

So weird that you'd have a routing issue to Dallas... when I'm in the same city... same ISP and I'm not seeing an issue. The internet is weird. At least we now have a second server to test with... Man, see what you started thomasrelee... you make a post and less than 24 hours after I read it TMN's got an extra server online. D.C. has some sweet bandwidth too, very happy with the new server

I'm already planning Amsterdam and Singapore after I'm done configuring this one. I worked a deal with my host. So folks in Europe and Asia will be happy to hear that.

... I'm just waiting for them to get the new server online. I got it in D.C. -- they have PoP through Chicago but no datacenter. They just opened datacenters in Amsterdam and Singapore so after I get this configured we'll see about opening up some stuff for the folks over seas. ... it will take me some time to get this configured.
