coknuck reacted to CA3LE in IPv6 support
I don't have any specific IPv6 tests online right now but I can work on that for you.

coknuck got a reaction from CA3LE in Location changing
No! Dallas is a default server. Now you can change the servers to check your speed almost anywhere in the world. Go to top right corner of Download page a select "Test Server" then pick the one you want. Hope this helps. Enjoy and check out the rest of the site. If you have questions don't be afraid to ask.

coknuck reacted to Sean in Upload test often finishes after the 96KB test
I'll keep an eye out for it.
My fixed wireless ISP's uplink intermittently went fast earlier and it was during that time when this bug crept up.
At the moment, it's back down to a snails crawl of 20kbps from just over 9Mbps earlier. In fact, the ISPs preferred test site Speedtest.net can't even measure the uplink when it's that slow - It just gets stuck!
I thought I was in luck of getting a faster Internet connection earlier when a sales person from the major telecom provider Eir came to our house claiming to offer "Next generation consistent broadband". So I went on to ask him what about the speed and he said you'll get a consistent 4Mbps guaranteed, no buffering and so on. I tried explaining that this is what I'm currently getting on DSL, but he really tried to say Eir's 4Mbps connection will be considerably quicker than what I currently have! As I'm already stuck in an 18 month contract, I mentioned and he finally went away.

Why do these say Dallas,TX when I tested the Denmark Server?

coknuck got a reaction from CA3LE in Win 7 and Win 10 to Tweak or no?
Tweeking programs haven't work since XP. You used to be able to adjust the stack with Cablenut, and it worked well. The stack will adjust as needed for what ever your speed is.

coknuck got a reaction from CA3LE in Dish Satellite, is it always this bad?
If you read their terms as well as other internet providers, it will state "up to" 3X to 5X. the key words "up to". Believe me they try to use them to their advantage. There are topics here whit people using satellite internet and your story is very much in common with theirs. As stated above satellite is a last resort.

coknuck reacted to boywonder in 7550 Telnet
Hi Conuck,
That's to log into my admin interface. I'm actually trying to open a cmd prompt and telnet the 7550 router and adjust my SNR. It may not be possible with this router as Frontier may have it blocked, but for the love of tweaking have to try.

coknuck reacted to CA3LE in Ping Rate or Latency report - is it possible here?
I was supposed to have ping included in the last version but I didn't get to it. I'm hoping to put that up front and center in the next release. Keep visiting to watch it develop before your eyes. --- I'm far from finished.

coknuck reacted to CA3LE in I am confused.
You can trust the results here. ... I can tell you that a thousand times, it means nothing coming from me.
Testing it yourself like you just did is the best way to really drive the point home. Not enough people take the time to question it, they blindly trust the other tests thinking that their provider knows what they're doing. Yeah, they know what they're doing alright.
Too bad more people don't know. Help by spreading the word.

coknuck got a reaction from CA3LE in Veterans Day
Veterans Day is always observed officially on November 11, regardless of the day of the week on which it falls. The Veterans Day National Ceremony, like most ceremonies around the nation, is held on Veterans Day itself. However, when Veterans Day falls on a weekday, many communities choose to hold Veterans Day parades or other celebrations on the weekend before or after November 11 so that more people can participate.

coknuck reacted to mudmanc4 in Frontier is being sued...
You might represent your overall experience by placing the average within your sig. What you currently show in your sig is a mis representation.
Had a look at your results and it's obvious there is a lack of throughput during normal hours.

My most recent I have. I am told I do pretty good for 55. I'd post one of the fiancé and I but her job likely won't allow it. IRS personel.

coknuck reacted to nanobot in java install
I'm referring to the fact that Windows is practically the de-facto standard for PC's and Laptops anymore. Yes, you have Apple/OS X computers. Yes, you have Android/Chromebook computers. Yes, you have Linux computers. But due to the fact that the majority of Corporate America uses the Windows OS for their Desktop and Laptop devices it has become second nature to use it. It's more difficult for people to switch from a Windows Device to a Mac or Linux device than it is the other way around, because at some point in their life they were almost certainly forced to use a Windows PC.
Thanks,
EBrown
