not enough 5.25 external bays for me , -
Thanks for the input Shug , your analogy was great , and I think you know my respect for all in the medical world , and I have strong views of the respect that at times seems laking for cleaners through to the top in that field , as an engineer (robotics ) I got head hunted into that field , ( well it made a change from working out how to pack corn flakes faster etc) and the most interesting job I ever had , the downside was the pay was less , but even then I got paid more than a graduate Microbiologist , at times I think the world is , another rant of mine , Spitting , we were almost free of T.B. in the UK, now due to falling standards it's back in fashion and so is T.B. remember , your bad hygiene habits , is someone else's fatal illness ,

Sorry to hear that ackthecat , yes it's reaching epidemic proportions , over here in the UK, mostly down to poor hygiene standards ,and cost cutting , http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article19382.ece. In 2004, ministers pledged to halve MRSA cases by 2008. Health Secretary Patricia Hewitt insists those targets will be met ? despite a leaked memo last month warning the war was already lost. "DEATHS linked to hospital superbugs have soared to almost 5,500 a year, alarming new figures revealed yesterday." The figures were published as the National Audit Office attacked the NHS for failing to provide a full picture of the impact of hospital infections. Between April 2003 and March 2004 MRSA blood infections increased by 3.6% from 7,384 to 7,647. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3891459.stm

Staphylococcus aureus, multipies by cell division , and a single cell under ideal conditions can pass the 1 million mark in just over 3 hours ,there are other factors in methicillin resistants , from drinking water and food we eat , and the past over prescribing of methicillin which is part of the penicillin family , it's a long complex story , but nature always fights back , LOL we can't even beat the common cold , the penicillin family is totally ineffective against that as it is a virus , but is often prescribed to guard against a secondary bacterial infection that may develop through a weakend immune system , lol this may not be accurate as it is from memory from way back as an engineer in medical research ,

Sorry Blako , you got my worst computer nightmare come true , I cant help , hopefully someone on TMN can ,I will follow this thread wth interest ,

Ok, shows how much I know about hyperthreading , my old skt A 2.6 gives me hyperventilation at times I did notice the memory timing warning on your MSI board " Due to the High Performance Memory design, motherboards or system configurations may or may not operate smoothly at the JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) standard settings (BIOS Default on the motherboard) such as DDR voltage, memory speeds and memory timing. Please confirm and adjust your memory setting in the BIOS accordingly for better system stability." but I guess you have checked out that ?
-
Blako, are you still on the original 766Mhz M/B but now running a 3.0Ghz P4 ? , sorry I don't know much about intel stuff , but that seems to be pushing an old board a bit to far ?
-
same for me with G/F's
-
you got it in one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antibiotic_resistance
-
No it isn't new , it has been around a long time , Staphylococcus aureus, but it has mutated/adapted and has developed resistance to methicillin, and now is known as methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus, aka MRSA, we all probably have Staphylococcus aureus on us , not so harmfull in health adults , but serious in babies, elderly and sick folk if it passes through a open wound , it was easy to treat using methicillin in the past , but a different story now , the best guard against it good hygiene standards , yes that is the way of nature , even bugs adapt given time , they want to live just like humans who have adapted over the years, allso the problem of world travel doesn't help , you may eradicate a disease in you part of the world only to have it reoccur later , brought in by migrating birds or human travelers ,

H iMttFrog13 , with respect, if that was the reason ,why the need I don't follow , do you feel the need to give that reason for where you are comming from ? , I fully agree his colour or religion is immaterial on his ability to be president ,
-
MttFrog13 " As i say this, know that i am black, " for me this sums up all that is wrong in this world , that you feeling the need to say that , for me I was born white , just by chance I could have been born any other colour , religion whatever , or any place in the world , just the luck of the draw for me I guess , racial intolerance is taught from childhood I guess , and in the year 2008 it is time for us all to move on, If Obama is the best you have , thats OK by me , and that is how it should be IMHO, BTW over here in the UK we have a prime minister , Scottish , and not voted for , his religion is unknown to me , but we are giving him a fair crack of the whip , Water I am truly amazed at your American way of finding a president , it seems to me to be a pure hollywood dream stuff , is Homer Simpson in the running ?
-
The UK view , From The Sunday TimesJanuary 6, 2008 Obama emerges as a liberal Reagan who can reunite America http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/columnists/andrew_sullivan/article3137473.ece or fancy a bet ? Obama now favourite on Intrade ( Ireland ) January 5th, 2008 http://politicalbetting.com/index.php/archives/2008/01/05/obama-now-favourite-on-intrade/ My personal thoughts , Obama won't become president , the old racial slippage, will finally stall his chances,

easy way to check CPU temp , if you suspect sensor reading , run for an hour or so, power down and turn off mains supply , remove side cover , take anti stat precautions then gently touch the side of the heat sink , 36- 40 C it will feel warm 40-50 C it will feel very warm 50-60 C it will feel hot 60 > ouch this is assuming the heat sink is properly attached and the heat transfer paste is OK , looking at your other temps.m/b,hdo,hdi, I would guess you have a room temperature of around 25C ?
-
My vid card was labeled as Aux in speed fan , that temp may be it , and correct , My Nvidia card idles at 113F (45C ) and reaches core slow down at 293F (145C ) never been over 60C though ,

I have had similar problems with dvd writers , and one was a Sony , are you using Nero burning ? the Nero info tool kit will list the drive and the supported formats , my Sony dvd writer lost the dvd - R function and and made excellent coasters of dvd disks that I had been using , it was cheaper to buy a new dvd writer , the only temp. cure was to reboot , then it would sometimes work it still writes CD's ok , so it found a home in my spare computer ,
-
Speed fan ,Great prog. been using it for years , it does more than just temps. the smart drive part is usefull , especially the on line analysis , it highlighted a problem I was having with an IDE cable , BTW, it does Vid card temp on my humble box , (Nvidia card ) :lol:Coknuck, your speed fan needs updating
