  1. Hi tommie you must have got a tail wind to London , as I make it 4700 miles to Texas mind you I live in London , it is 150 miles away according to the test , I haven't show my speed as it is being upgraded up to 8Mb , line tests are happening today, been told 5Mb is OK for sure ,
  2. Hi Cholla , most people find the 2cv has a floating feel about it, as they have very soft suspension, and they do lean some on corners, the art to fast cornering is to dab the brake just before the corner , then acelerate at max , if you lift off the nose tucks in and the car leans untill the door handles nearly scrape the ground nice bike the T 650 , haven't seen one for years over here, |I don't own a bike anymore , but still get to ride one from time to time , I would like a BMW GS Dakar but I don't think it is going to happen now Thanks for the paint tutorial , it was that easy !
  3. Hi Tommie & Cholla , been away for a while at my grandsons 12 birthday party, and then sorting out a family disagreement , happy families time again, me and grandson James disappeared down to his log cabin and kept our heads down , and let the wimmin get on with it , Right, back on topic that monster engine weighs more than a 2CV so I guess some suspension mods would be called for, the 2CV uses a suspension arm like the rear suspension on a BMW motorcycle single arm rear suspension, but back and front , it is very hard to design a system for a light car (450 Kg ) when the passenger weight is more than 1/2 the vehicle weight , and the vehicle is built for cart tracks , Tommie none of the vehicles in your pics. would get more than 1/2 mile in UK Dangerous projections would be the first charge , followed be about a thousand more , depending how much you groveled to the law enforcement officer , Hi Cholla, I doubt you would like a drive in a 2CV as a motorcyclist tinted glass is a nightmare , you cannot gain eye conntact with the driver, so it just leaves you guessing his next move , probably talking on his mobile phone ,
  4. Hi ratchet ,I just done a Java based speed test , and expl.exe. stayed the same ! you can zero Java temp.files in Java settings , I think default is unlimited , I set mine to zero ,
  5. Hi Cholla, I hadden't any trouble with the log in page regarding font size , I normally enter by e-mail notification , and stay logged in forever, I noticed a problem (of my own doing ) after running ccleaner ,as I guess it removes the log in cookie , I tend to use larger fonts, as the maxthon favorites list is in very small fonts, I guess there is away to change that, but I haven't found it yet My problem was in the log in area , as shown in the first pic the second pic, is the latest screen shot, without any chages made on my computer having printed and scanned into jpg. via Adobe ( LOL) I can see the point you are making not a problem for me , it is still larger than my favorits list in maxthon
  6. oops , WTF is up with my Maxthon browser , last week it reset to smallest fonts, I reset it to medium fonts , now it has chosen largest , it seems to happen after I run ccleaner ? Anyway thanks Ca3le it is looking good for me even on largest font size,

Cholla , even the custom VW Beatles in uk (chrome covers ) rear engined , have to have Plexiglas covers in UK., one 2CV , to my knowledge has been Turbo'd d in UK , but it caught fire b4 a Car Magazine could road test it LOL ,fuel injection is being tried, The citroen 2cv since 1947 , has a alloy cross flow hemi head engine, mine has 9.5-1 comp ratio , forged German Mahle pistons, ram boost intake from cooling fan, electronic ignition, expapsion boxes and straight through cherry bomb exaust , oversize re-jeted twin barrel Solex carb. ( twin barrel is standard on 2cv. ) larger capacity oil pump, runs at 90 psi hot , on synthetic oil, and blueprinted engine, light flywheel , total cost = $450 and including new Citroen cylinders (2 ) seals etc. Total milage since build 62k on unleaded 95 oct. oil 1 pint in 3,000 miles, Bhp per litre =80 bhp engine design 1946, by Panhard (citroen) my 1999 GM astra 1.4 cc produces 85 bhp with 1,400 cc !!! so whats new

  14. Hi Cholla would that Sprite be street legal in th USA , certainly not in the UK , ( no exposed engine parts ) it might frighten the horses and Tommie, I see the the VW guy moved to Cal. , with the car, LOL I dont blame him for that

  19. Hi Cholla , you guys managed to get a V8 in a sprite ? LOL, I couldent get into a sprite mk1 (Frog-eye ) known in the UK as sprog eyed fright , I was running the Cooper S at that time, didn't have any trouble with Sprites The Sunbeam imp , shame it never ran, engine by Coventry Climax , they were never full sorted, and being rear mounted had cooling problems , that engine should have gone into the Mini IMO , the Austin rear main seal, various types were tried felt, cork, leather, they could be made oil tight, but it was a bit hit and miss, TR3 nice, my favorite was the TR5-6 looked so good , I had a ratty TR 7 the only thing that was good for was pulling birds LOL , a task somewhat harder in a 2CV, but then I like a challenge TR5 ENGINE DETAILS 6 Cylinder 74.7mm x 95mm 2498cc, engine TR5 150bhp at 5500rpm M/torque - 164lbs/ft at 3500rpm TR250 104bhp at 4500 rpm 143lbs/ft at 3000rpm (Americian market ) see you guys been detuning again LOL
  20. I still use it for F-Disk ,
  21. Hi Shug, gee thanks , but can I change them for the equivalent in petrol vouchers, it should cover a few gallons in the UK
  22. Hi philp, lol , we may also say unchecked , but all our UK forms say put a tick in the relevant box, so I kinda gets to a habit , tickover ,that is kinda interesting, it has allways been used since I can remember , (1960's) I use idle speed myself , we had a mech .with American connections , he said to the foreman , it has a rattle in the trunk , lol "TRUNK", is it a F*&^ing Elephant , we keep our hood on our coats , but our boot on our feet and car lol we had a US customer who complained about his shift, yeah shift work is a bars*&ed , replied the foreman,so whats up with the gearchange , somewere I have a book on American/English car terminology , it's about 50 pages , the one word same meaning that beat me for years was a-lumin-ium, I though was a different composition to our alu-minium I did my apprenticeship with Standard-Triumph , but moved to Renault then out of the trade to cleaner engineering , I didn't like getting my little pandies dirty lol
  23. Hi Shugs , have you got , leave words uncensored box unticked in profile > look and layout ? that matbe the reason give it a try ,
  24. TestMy.net TESTMY.NET not pointless Shug , may save somebody taking their keyboard apart (me)
  25. Your friends Dad sounds my kinda guy, LOL he would have been beter off using the lighter 2cv engine IMO. Citroen made a 4 WD car by using a engine/gearbox assy. back and front of the car, easy enough to do, as reversing the rear engine , only needs the crownwheel to be reversed in the gearbox, many of these cars were made for the oil companies , as desert exploration vehicles , also for the Spanish Police ! not many survive now and a good one is worth upwards of $20,000, "In March 1958 the first prototype left the PANHARD-factory, which belonged to Citro
