I have decided to follow Tommies lead and add a post for your HVAC problems. The service that Swimmer is talking about is the IPSEC service. Go into services and disable it and stop the service. Then see if you can ping.

I will be curious to see if this is settled quietley out of court. I'm sure Best Buy will pay big money to keep a good name!

That's right you never know who you are talking to. lol

I talked to them one time and they just want to know if you have any experiance, and take a test. They don't even provide any classes for the people to stay up to date!! They told me that you learn everything you need to know by working onsite. :haha:

I only suggested the shielded cable because if you are running unshielded down the wall you never know how close you may be to any electrical wires. (Interference) On two occasions, I have experienced interference in the line running unshielded cable down through a wall. So we ended up pulling the cable back out and replacing it with shielded cable and it worked like a charm!! Needless to say, you don't want to take a chance on having to re-pull the cable. (It is aggrevating enough one time!) I will say though that this is few and far between, and you may not have this problem.

Something could be corrupt in your system or you very easily could have a virus. Make sure you scan for viruses with the san I provided. =)

Try this scan. http://www.ewido.net/en/ If you don't have any viruses try to boot up in safe mode with networking and see if you can ping then. If not let me know.

What version of windows are you running?

Do you mean you have tried going to Start/Run/type cmd/then type tracert www.testmy.net and it gives you Access denied then? Are logged in as administrator? If not log on as admin and try again. Let us know. Welcome to the forum.

Swimmer is right. The heat sink shouldn't burn you if you touch it. It should just be warm. If it is that hot I recommend not running the pc until you either get a fan or figure out what the problem is. Who did you buy the pc from? Have you checked the settings in bios to see if it's OC'd?
