try this VanBuren

try my mirror uploadtest http://www.testmy.net/tools/test/u_load.php?top=mirror-VanBuren the server dosent allow tests larger then 2MB so the 2992kB testfile will only test against testmy.net main server i suggest you try the 1496 kB test instead direct link here http://www.testmy.net/tools/test/u_load.php?&tt=1&st=st&ta=1&top=mirror-VanBuren&align=center&s=1496 VanBuren

I have to use a speedtest to notice if something is wrong, i mean if i only download at 10 Mbps from a server thats 10% of my advertised speed, i dont start calling my ISP and complain. Congestion, and servers throttle speed is not uncommon. Aslong as my ISP speedtest shows 100Mbps then i know its a problem that cannot be fixed by them. VanBuren

first try the 2992 KB testfile http://www.testmy.net/dl-2992 still same speed? then also follow these steps Still not good? Try these settings in TCP Optimizer VanBuren
-
great now lets make sure no settings are wrong download and install cablenut http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1013.0;attach=64 open adjuster, click "delete cablenut tweaks" and click "save to registry" now all fields is blank, click "Exit" now open Tcp Optimizer make sure all MTU fields is blank for all Network adapters like this picture click apply and reboot your PC now make a new TCP analyzer test here https://www.speedguide.net:8080/ and post results also test speed again what speed does your ISP advertise? If its 512Kbps then your friend might use firewalls or internet accelerators that can give fake scores. VanBuren

yea the mirror uploadtest seems great, but there is a problem, Server dosent allow uploadtests larger then 2MB Damon will make a custom 2048 kB test and delete the 2992kB link since that testfile using testmy.net main server and not my mirror. sometimes it burst above my cap, so a larger testfile would be more accurate. awesome 2Mbps above advertised VanBuren

hey markgot and welcome to the forum you seem to have a problem between these 2 hops, loosing packets try powercycle modem/router, leave it off for atleast 2 minutes also if you use a phone extension wire, replace it or bypass it and connect modem/router direct to your house main phone socket. try that first, and see if the timeouts * in your traceroute dissapear. If not, call your ISP and let them check your modem sync and signals. When thats fixed, ill help you with Tcp Optimizer settings or Cablenut settings. VanBuren

thanks guys yea its a "special" cake , dont think its very common outside Sweden to eat this type of cake, its just like a giant sandwitch of white bread and a special mayonnaise inside, on top shrimps, cheese, ham, cucumber, tomato of course you can add more good stuff, but thats the basic VanBuren

its cached, not your real speed... try disable your firewall or run the flat file test http://www.testmy.net/tools/database/db_search.php?type=comp_id&q=666152340469&framed=yes&limit=30&sort=test_score&d=ASC VanBuren -

my guess is that some router in your route is overloaded at one direction Not long ago i had the same problem with this server, but since i pull over 90 Mbps from it now, the server must be ok. VanBuren
