    um...why not just back up all ur imporant files and reformat? then you can just configure it back to how it was and put all the saved files back in plus, reformat=fresh start fresh starts are always nice, except for having to install all your drivers and software again, but hey, i think its worth it

    whoa, really??? that sucks im sure you could get around it somehow.... like maybe use a code that makes the ad really really really really small, like 1pixel big or something....then u still have the ad, so your not really breaking a rule 69th post!!!

    have u checked for spyware? maybe thats slowing u down or do you have a wireless network? maybe someones leeching off your connnection

    yea i have problems trying to get into safe mode too...i end up having to reboot like..3 times before i get it at the exact moment lol

    lol, best test site, definately before i knew about testmy, i would use dslreports.com, but then they started getting all weird and slow and usally gave wrong results and then i found testmy, and it was a dream come true i still use dsl reports for their little tweak test and other various tests, but for speed tests, testmy.net owns all

    no i tried safemode, and then just running adaware and stuff, but then wen i went back into regular mode, the spyware still came back, so after some research on what i had, i used hijackthis and it got rid of it

    i use firefox and IE one thing i dont like about firefox is that it doesnt play background music thats using the BGSOUND tag (like on my xanga site for instance), but other than that...firefox wins hands down...well, that and not being able to use it with windowsupdate and a couple of other sites that say crap like 'internet explorer only' CA3LE...im gonna 'promote' a site on ur site...but its for a good purpose :::

    about 4 or 5 months back, i had some weird kidn of spyware on my computer that would put itself in startup, and put a bunch of random programs in the WINDOWS folder (they were all like poop32.exe...they all ended with 32 for some reason) Everytime i deleted the spyware things from spybot in the starttup options thing, next time i restart, there would just be more spyware i tried adaware, spybot, and spysweeper, but none seemed to get it all So then i found out about this thing called HijackThis, and i booted into safemode and found all the entries that i suspected of being spyware(had to be careful not to delete important stuff though), and then i clicked 'fix' or w/e it has. then i had to go into the windows folder, and manually delete all the weird .exe things by hand, and then i rebooted into regular mode, and ran spybot and adaware, and then i think i also ran 2 small progs(something like About:Buster and cwshredder i think), and then i finally got rid of the damned spyware it was a pain in teh a$$ though
