  1. well, the problem is that i cant really get the car until i learn how to drive manual (my dad isn't really wanting me to get a manual car...but i found a 02 type-s for 13.5k with 39k miles...very good deal imo...i just gotta somehow learn stick so i can show my dad tht i <i>can</i> drive it. but yeah, i think i'll try the rent-a-car method i have a pretty good idea on how to work manual..i've driven a big uhaul truck b4 (when i was around 11 or 12)...i dont think i had any idea what i was doing, but i rmr i managed to get it to accelerate a bit...so...now that i do have somewhat of an idea on what to do...how hard could it be, rite? =) the only thing i'm really worried about is actually getting into first...that, and blowing the engine (i guess racing games kinda led to this paranoia, lol).
  2. Does anyone know where I could learn to do so? I don't really know anyone who drives manual (and those that know how to don't have a manual car). Does anyone know if car dealerships will teach you? Say i go to an Acura dealership and ask them if they'll teach me manual transmission on the Acura RSX Type-S (the car i'm currently looking to get). Think they'll teach me? Anyone know of any other places at where i could learn to drive stick?
  3. definately Sygate. To me, ZoneAlarm is like a firewall for dummies type of deal. Yes, its got awesome protection, but it notifies u about every little damned thing. Sygate on the other hand (been using it for a looong time) uses barely any resources and doesnt pop up a screen for every connection blocked and it does just as good of a job if not better than ZoneAlarm Edit: apparently, symantec acquired Sygate and discontinued sygate personal firewall. thats LAME!!!!! damn you symantec!!!!!!
  4. yeah, im many things, it is. if it gets faster, is skinnable, and plugin-izable, and more securer, it'll be wayyy better then firefox. thats when i'll switch back to using IE and only IE (instead of firefox, IE, and opera)
  5. http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=11516.msg113702#msg113702 Try the one PHP posted, its the black viper registry file for home, safe. I'm assuming it should work.
  6. So far, i'm really liking IE7 (as opposed to IE6) However, i HATE the placement of the back/forward and address bar...i wish there was a way for it to go under the file/edit/view/favs/tools/help toolbar. Also, when u open a new tab, its not exactly the fastest or smoothest, but it gets the job done. Some sites still dont work with it, but its all good. I was surprised that Google Toolbar Beta 4 works with IE7 all in all, i'd say ie7 is pretty good. while i still think firefox is still years ahead of ie7, i think microsoft may just be able to gain back part of that large amount of users that switched from IE to something else.
  7. lol i saw some company selling these (made of plastic though) for 19.95 on TV like a year ago but now, its freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee yaya
  8. seems good so far, i've been using it for the last hour or so. its def. better than IE6...but...its not really as good as FireFox and Opera are.
  9. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/ie7/default.mspx I downloaded it, it seems a lot better than Beta 1 was, and windows update works on it too. I'm keeping it. But it does use a lot of resources (about 40-80K ish for me)
  10. can u get me some too i'll give you a dollar
  11. I use a combination of Firefox, Opera, and Internet Explorer. I like FireFox and Opera the best, but sometimes IE is the only way 2 go

  13. hmmm...i wonder how windows 95 would run on a more recent computer (1.5+ Ghz, 1gig RAM, 6800 graphics, etc) =)
  14. how did you get it for 1299??? (link doesn't work) edit: nvm...i thought u meant a laptop but then i saw the 1299 desktop one
  15. uxtheme.dll patch 100% free (legally). Uses no resources either.
  16. GMail scans our email's to provide relevant ads...no one really cares though, but hey, its still there. Small things like these though...they don't really matter...I could care less.
  17. my guess? "because they dont have media center"
  18. 4500 is way too much. Unless you wanna wait for a 35% off coupon or something... i'd go with the sager 5720...more bang for the buck.
  19. The Sager 5720 is also very nice: http://www.pctorque.com/sager-5720-gaming-computers.php The Inspiron E1705 is also very promising...dual core too...but it only has a 7800 (non GTX):
