1. i think we've had 1 bomb 'threat'...but it was in the student parking lot so we didnt evacuate school though @ my school...we can usually expect fire alarms being pulled a couple of times throughout the year (happened during finals last year, lol)
2. I had a similar problem a few months back. If you havent already tried this, go into your aim prefrences (before signing on) and change the connections box to look like this (if its not already like this): That did the trick for me, maybe it'll work for you as well.
3. it looks lame, there would be no inward motion of buttons, just take your fingers and pretend your typing on your desk--it feels really weird
4. the engine has a crappy sound the car looks like something from before i was born but less than 4 bucks for a full tank...cant be beat =/
5. I have a 166 Mhz IBM Aptiva w/Win 95...like a 2gb harddrive...cd drive...cutting edge ATI 16mb graphics...cant take a screenshot though (its not hooked up). It works fine though, loads faster than any WinXP comp i've ever used (of course...the only thing on that comp is win95 and office 97, lol) looks like this:
6. i thought he was trying to talk like ork language or something from a game...then i realized he's talking an actual language!
7. the program that you used for formatting it to 128mb, does it have a name?
8. wow, it comes with an actual graphics card too lol seeems too good
9. If the mp3 player shows up in My Computer, then have you tried right clicking>format. That mite work
10. Alright, so i stumbled upon this new search engine called Blingo. It's sorta like myspace or xanga where you can add buddies. But thats where the similarities stop. Basically, by using the search engine, you have chances to win prizes. By adding friends, you have an even greater chance of winning. Say for example your friend wins a prize...well, then you also win the prize. Vice versa too, if you win a prize, your friend wins one too. More Info About Blingo Blingo is powered by Google, and since TONS of us probably already use Google for searching, we dont really have much to loose if we use Blingo. So I was thinking...with testmy.net having a ginormous amount of members, say we all signed up as 'friends' of eachother. We would have an INSANELY huge amount of chances to win prizes. So...if you're interested, join Blingo(link in sig). Mods/Admins/Commanders/the 'higher' order: Please delete this if it violates testmy.net 'procedures' (or whatever they would be called). I'm aware it might be considered 'advertising', so delete the post if it is. I just thought it'd be kinda cool if tons of testmy.net members joined
11. What are you trying to download? It may not be your connection at all. If you're trying to download a not-so-common file, then that might be why your speeds are low. Try downloading a popular file (for example, a hit song), and see what speeds you get on that.
12. PeerGuardian 2 Protowall Title says all Which has the better protection, and why?
13. haven't you heard? pinks wut real men wear(/accessorize...)
14. Motorola V551 (its my first cell...had it for a little over a year now). Overall, its pretty good, has all of the features ppl like to have the most. The camera is sorta low quality though, but other than that, its pretty good. I give it 8.5/10.
15. to connect to the internet, you pretty much HAVE to use the AOL program. but once you're connected, you can just minimize AOL and use FireFox or Internet Explorer. (well...u could do this back in the days of aol 6.0, i dunno if they've changed it since).
16. yeah, the layout is awesome, but i too think its a little too "white". but i'm liking the theme changer thingy...maybe it'll have a theme w/a little darker background color soon *hint hint* but anyways, its nice to see a new layout
17. yeah...get a new one...sorry to say, but most likely even one of those cheapo $500 dells would leave you with a better experience
18. i was sorta in the same boat as u a while back...i had tried everything...trillian, gaim, miranda, etc, and none of them just quite felt as 'smooth' as regular aim...but the problem with regular aim was that it was full of ads, bundled programs, and other junk. then i tried deadaim, and it was good, but unfortunately, it started becoming not-free software, and then eventually it just stopped being developed. so now, i use Messenger:Mate...i paid 5 bucks for it, but i guess its worth it, as messenger:mate is actually updated unlike deadaim. http://www.versoworks.com/mm/?p=home Theres the link to it, its basically just an AIM addon, but it makes aim a lot less annoynig to use (no ads, added features, etc). I dunno if an addon was exactly what you were looking for, but i figured it might interest u
19. http://www.kaspersky.com/ Kaspersky AntiVirus hands down. Best antivirus i've ever used (i've used Norton, Symantec Corp. Ed., McAfee, AVG, NOD32, IBM Antivirus, and Trend Micro Antivirus...they just stand no chance against Kaspersky)
20. fraps is obviously a smaller program. the method wont work for ALL files, but for a lot, it will. as for the spyware part...what swimmer said. also, just b/c some spyware scanner detects it as spyware doesnt mean that it is
21. the actual program limewire has no viruses or spyware... its just idiots that get viruses by downloading files (disguised as porn or something) like to start rumors just use your head before you click 'download', make sure you have an antivirus, and you should be fine. if you just think logically, you shouldnt really get any viruses. ex: you're downloading some image editing program (like photoshop or something), and it says the filesize is 500kb. Well, obviously 500kb's is WAY too small, so if you get a virus, then its not limewires fault, its your fault for just not thinking straight.
