  1. are you sure that the password match? Otherwise you would be discribing a situtation when the passwords dont match.
  2. It isnt dual core.. it is just 64bit.. No one has a dual core mobile platform yet.. I have a Dell 8500 and 6000.. Love both of them and they are Centrino with ATI graphics. One with a 9600 pro and the other with an x300.. I would highly recommend dell laptops.. the tech supports sucks.. but that doesnt matter cause you have testmy.net
  3. amd Nvidia.. That is my vote.. until i see something better than the 7800gtx from ati then maybe.. but even then i am a Nvidia fan..
  4. So this "tech" took the computer out and swapped parts? The first thing I would do is take it back and tell the SOB that it isnt booting and that is his problem! The computer would post just fine when you brought it in and now it will not. so there is something wrong. There could be tons of stuff. Some of the newer motherboards dont support the older duron/thunderbird/k6-2 processors. which it sounds like might be your problem. If I were you I would tell him that you didnt ask for an upgrade you asked for system maintance! If he refuses to fix the problem or make it so that your system works.. file a complaint with the BBB and call the credit card company or bank and tell them to stop the payment.. after you tell them what happened.
  5. it depends on whether comcast has the equipment in place to offer that service to everyone in your area.. my guess is you will be on the 4/384 for a while then get upgraded..

  11. hahaha.. congats!
  12. I want to see where you are getting these prices.. i can not find the 7800GTX for anything less than $500.. are you sure it isnt the 7800GT? they just put that one out and it would fall into the price range you are discribing..
  13. Glad you like the 524! I like mine alot.. it is the A1 but that is alright..
  14. then you are going to want to go with the crossfire stuff.. otherwise you need the exact same graphics cards for Nvidia's SLI to work. Same card, same version, same firmware...
