Intel Celeron M 370 or AMD Mobile Sempron3100+
Swimmer replied to pitbull481's topic in General Discussion
The E1505 is a better base system.. You get the dual core.. Sweet I might look into getting a 7200rpm hard drive.. I have the Hitachi 60gb 7200rpm in my 8600 and Love it! Also if you plan to do any gaming upgrade the graphics.. brings the total to slightly under $1000.. but my brother bought a Inspiron 6000 in July. 1.8 centrino M, 1 gig ram, 60gb 7200rpm, XSGA+ screen, dvd/cd-rw, x300 graphics, and wifi for about $1700 you are getting a steal for anything under $1200 on that computer! -
Accessing another computer across the network
Swimmer replied to CaptainSauce's topic in Networking and Hardware
It can take up to 15 minutes for the changes to take effect.. that is one of the huge down fall built into the Windows File/Print sharing.. For some reason if it doesnt auto detect you have to wait. As long as you have a router.. it shouldnt matter if you have a wireless or ethernet connection.. The only thing that I can thing of right now is if the firewall is blocking the connection.. Try turning off the firewalls for a short period of time. If that works.. then add the local ip address of the other computer to the trusted list of IPs. I have seen zone alarm do this and also my trend micro firewall has to be configured so that everything work properly. -
hahaha... love the title! very nice.. that download is up there..

Accessing another computer across the network
Swimmer replied to CaptainSauce's topic in Networking and Hardware
Here try this guide.. click here wrote this a while back.. You were not trying to create and Ad hoc network were you? you just wanted to create a file sharing network with the 2 computer right? -
sounds like the DHCP server on the router is off or is out of IP addresses to release.. Try power cycling the router.. if that doesnt work then reset the router. I have seen something like this before.. not with ip issues.. but setting changing for no reason..

might want to try these.. http://www.driverfiles.net/Cameras/CMS/vpeye-2.0/download/page,sh,24158,817,17,.html they are for the 2.0 version but it was published in 2004... so it might work.. I have yet to find anything on the company CMS?

yeah we are going to need some more info on the make and model of the camera.. My guess is as soon as you get the driver it will be fine.. As most of the drivers that shipped with windows XP are oem and dont always work correctly.

I have yet to see one that is able to control the TV.. Reading some of the phone fourms it looks like the IR sensor isnt strong enough to send/recieve signals to a TV.. So you would have to be pretty close to the tv for it to even work. However, I have found some remote PC software. It uses the bluetooth technology in the S60 phones to control basic tasks such as DVD, Itunes, and volume. If you are interested in that take a look at this forum: http://www.howardforums.com/printthread.php?t=482332

These guys are screwed if Winternals can get everything that they have listed in the suit. My guess is that there were quite a few copies floating around.. I am thinking maybe 12,000 per copy? I like the sound of an extra 0 for payment.. Haha then make them buy the license! so $13,200 for what they wanted..
-
Looks like they might be in a little bit of trouble this time.. http://www.testmy.net/articles/article-578 I hope they get nailed to the wall.. My favorite part: I will answer this for them.. Bit torrent! Let the payments begin!

You would see no difference in internet speed.. If you are transfering files from one computer to another then yes.. there would be a speed difference! For 2 computers you will need a router and 2 adaptors.. one for each computer. Make sure that everything is the same brand! If you are going to go with the 54g spec then just make sure that you get a 802.11g router and adaptors. If you go with the 108mbps version then you really need to pay attention to the adaptors the you select!

hahaha.. yeah.. You couldnt go after the manufacture.. you could go after the guy who sold it, if in fact it was over clocked or modified by him. If it isnt worth $10,000 then it isnt worth doing.

Unless you are in an industral setting with a lot of interference.. Then you dont need shielded cable. I wouldnt run the cables next to power cables.. but other than that you should alright to do anything that you need. I dont know if a patch panel at this point is worth the investment. that came with a crimper, tester, and some connectors.. I am sure that you can do better than that.. that was the result of about 15 seconds of searching..

yeah he has another song on there also...
