  1. good to have in you in the cavalry, sir smartbroken_user, are you using the commercially sold stinger or you just made one yourself?
  2. hmm, i don't know much about legal stuff too, but i think what he wants to do is a little like what this guy did. http://www.testmy.net/t-20809
  3. yeah, i see that needle you're talking about. you mean, you improvised a 4 pin to become a 6 pin? great idea. although, if it was a 4 pin, and you added 1 pin, you'll still be 1 pin short. have you used that plug? anyway, what is that thing inside the ellipse? that's what i was asking on my earlier post.
  4. what's that thing you attached it to? you could have made it to be just open ended.
  5. hmm, coolbuster always suggests using avast, maybe it will help in your case. i don't know about your router, but i think some of them may slow down connection. as for your problem with your base station, try using different APs while homing in to that base station.if none of them works, try pointing your canopy to different directions and look for a base station that will give you desirable results.
  6. hmm, your hardware is not bad. how about your programs?
  7. first off, please use english when posting. looks like you gave yourself the works. have you tried TCP Optimizer? it may give you more desirable results. also, please share your hardware specs and installed programs if you don't mind. we may find a solution there.
  8. you prefer avast! as your av, right coolbuster? i used it before, but i had problems when i had to scan large, compressed files. whenever i try to, it considers it as a compression bomb. so i had to switch to avg. (sorry for being off topic, just sharing a boring, useless story)
  9. you beat me to it. yes, real time content filtering is how antiviruses can slow down your connection.
  10. yes coolsurf, that's the one. looks like you are very lucky with your connecntion. where are you from? @coolbuster - i was at bacolod partying for almost two weeks(semestral break). the resorts there were great. downside is the hangover was a killer. i doubt it if my brain ever gets rehydrated back to normal.
  11. i know that sir. what surprised me is that there are iBooks that won't run Apple OS.
  12. i think cablenut settings vary from person to person. there is no cablenut setting that is perfect for everybody. try gourame's settings to start. if you're not satisfied, try tweaking it yourself.
  13. hmm, i thought the iBook was made specially for Apple OS.looks like i was wrong.
  14. you have continued service which you can terminate anytime you want. if you need to have a new contract after one year, "lock in period" won't be a proper term, it should be "contract expiration date". did you get this directly from smart?
  15. i think if you get past the one year lock in period, you can cancel your contract anytime you want. you don't get a new contract by getting past the lock in period.
  16. the problem is, looks like some people don't know how to remove the link part of the code when posting. anyways, i don't see the point of taking a speed test from another site and then posting it here.
  17. firefox add-ons gives different functions to your firefox, examples are opera-like mouse gestures(i love this add-on, wish i could have it with windows explorer) and ability to control your media player program. try searching this link https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ i guess it's a case to case basis. personally, firefox and opera are tied on first place, opera for it's speed, and firefox for it's add-ons.
  18. yes, yours. you might as well say that app launcher/dock you use. i use rklauncher
  19. yes,in terms of browsing speed, opera has got it under the belt.
  20. yeah, and what's that bar that looks like a music player? looks like songbird.
  21. i think it's a given that they will replace your antenna any time you request for one. it's almost always the last resort of the tech support when i call them for crappy connections. although we can't be assured that they are brand new. i remember us having a member with a used canopy. i think going past the lock in period with smart doesn't mean getting a new contract.
  22. i read somewhere that originally the canopy costs 30k, but smart was able to get a discount from motorola. it costs 15k if you break it. it's ok if you just want to face it into another direction, but if you want to make it higher, you'll have to contact their tech support. another 10ft pole costs 450.
  23. ho-hum, looks like whatever i say, you just keep on at it. anyway, nice sig coolbuster. although it says perfected.
