  1. how much do you pay for that service?
  2. none that i know of. i use it on my linux, i haven't tried it yet with windows xp.
  3. nice speeds, congratulations
  4. your speed is good already, it's close to the advertised speed of smartbro.
  5. you can keep your old settings, but you can also create a new one to experiment which is better.
  6. approximately how long does it take to authenticate the new base station?
  7. hmm, ok, thanks for clarifying that.
  8. jun101ph, when you changed your base station, did your connection work immediately? some people say that changing their base station redirected them to the portal, and said that changes occurred to their connection.
  9. that ap your talking about isn't so bad, how about the users? it may have less.
  10. is there no other ap that has higher RSSI with the same jitter? look for something with jitter of 1-4, RSSI of 700+, and with a low sector user count.
  11. jitter, to make it simple, represents the amount of interference on your signal. the lower tthe jitter, the better. recommended amount is 1-4. to know your jitter, and other stats of the AP you are connected to, open your canopy page. click configuration>radio. take note of the value where it says color code. next click tools>AP then click AP eval in the bottom. look for the color code that matches the one you saw on radio, that is the AP you are connected to.
  12. whoa, easy on the caps key, it burns my eyes just kidding. anyway, to the forum. generally, look at the topics here http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?board=135.0 to help your smartbro connection. good luck.
  13. ouch. those malwares were not detected by avg?
  14. you could try open office. it can do almost all things ms office can do. check www.openoffice.org
  15. hmm, that's the first time i heard of that problem. you mean, you had VLC(videoLAN) even though you didn't install it? maybe it's an adware that just copied VLC's name so that you won't notice it, in case you do have VLC. i had no problem with VLC, and there was also a time when it was my stand alone media player. i don't watch movies on my computer anymore,so i uninstalled it. i now use foobar2000 for my music.
  16. to enter the BIOS setup, you need to press a key during boot process. you could see it in the screen. for most, i think it is the delete key. mine uses f2.
  17. @Azgauth - looks like you have a lot of video converting programs. do you need all 4? i am assuming that ImTOO you have is also the video converting one. also, i think those ascentive programs are paid programs. do you use them?
  18. i still have 11 months i believe most people who apply for smartbro doesn't know what their getting into.
  19. now kids, remember, slide dividers == nutcrackers
  20. welcome back jun101ph. i see you're still unsatisfied with smartbro.how long do you have to endure before you change ISP? i still have 11 months to go. EDIT: yes, he was one of the first to reach 400+, but when he came back some weeks ago looks like something wrong happened to his connection.
  21. i think if you switch prior to the expiration of the one year lock up, you still have to pay for one year's worth of subscription to smartbro. @tagasipol - good luck on your new ISP. i think you could still use some of the tweaks here on mydsl.
  22. open the cablenut adjuster program, and try adjusting the values. i thinks it is safe to tweak the Default Receive window, Default Send Window, TCP Window Size and Global Max TCP Window Size. P.S. if you were talking to SiraComputer, it should be ate, not kuya.
  23. your speed is acceptable depending on your usage of the internet. for me, i won't settle for anything less than 250 Kbps. try tweaking your connection, and stop relying on their crappy cs.
  24. i asked smartbro, and they said they won't cut off your connection until after 3 months notice. that means you have one month left. i didn't sign any contract either, since i applied via email.
