by the way you say it EF, it sounds like you didn't get what i did. the installers gave me the administrator account and password, they also taught me how to access the canopy.

well, in a way, it is naughty, since standard procedure asks that the isp should provide us this account. these steps help skip through the red tape.

momma t, this is practically our isp's fault, since when they install the connection, they should also give you your own administrator account. some of the subscribers come here complaining that they aren't allowed administrator privileges, which they should be. i have my own administrator account, so does most others.

this is the best i can come up with 1. Access your canopy page. 2. Click Tools. Select the AP Evaluation tab. 3. Click Rescan APs. 4. Look for an AP that has the best stats. Preferably with jitter of 1-5, RSSI of 600+, and as low Sector User Count as possible. 5. Take note of the Color Code of your selected AP. 6. Click Configuration. 7. Under the Radio tab, input the Color Code you obtained. 8. Save Changes and Reboot.

in case our friends from abroad are reading this, what they're talking about is the filipino version of S.O.B. also, it is in a slang form, and if you intend it to someone, you add "mo"(filipino for "you") and yeah, that csr was wrong in misinterpreting the customer. when he first swore, it was at the situation, not at the csr. also, she can't swear back, since he was a customer. she should get used to it, since she will mostly be dealing with pissed customers, not people with the intent to wish her a good day.

i'm not saying that you shouldn't use proxies.by all means, use them. but not when you're taking a speed test. what i'm saying is, if you use a proxy, then do speed test, chances are that test is cached, which is inaccurate. and i think believing in inaccurate tests is fooling yourself.

i don't know about better, but i know of other types of launchers, like Yz and RKlauncher. i know RKlauncher is free, and objectdock i think is from stardock, so i guess you have to buy it, right?

wow, you made me sound like a complete noob there. well: 1. check our post counts. i've been around longer than you, so i think i know what i'm talking about. 2. this is what wikipedia says about proxies : In computer networks, a proxy server is a server (a computer system or an application program) which services the requests of its clients by forwarding requests to other servers. A client connects to the proxy server, requesting some service, such as a file, connection, web page, or other resource, available from a different server. The proxy server provides the resource by connecting to the specified server and requesting the service on behalf of the client. A proxy server may optionally alter the client's request or the server's response, and sometimes it may serve the request without contacting the specified server. In this case, it would 'cache' the first request to the remote server, so it could save the information for later, and make everything as fast as possible. and also A proxy server can service requests without contacting the specified server, by retrieving content saved from a previous request, made by the same client or even other clients. This is called caching. Caching proxies keep local copies of frequently requested resources, allowing large organizations and Internet Service Providers to significantly reduce their upstream bandwidth usage and cost, while significantly increasing performance.
