  1. The ABSOLUTE best ping you can get with a 2 way system is around 473ms... that's just the time it takes the signal to travel 22,000 miles to the satellite, 22,000 from the satellite to NOC, 22,000 miles back to the satellite, and 22,000 miles back to your dish. 88,000 miles / 186,000 miles per second = 0.4731183 seconds (473ms) The speed of the radio waves will be slower due to interference, then there is the time to process the information at each location (only a couple ms total, but it still adds up) then you have congestion. And that's only to NOC and back.
  2. It's 9/1 if I recall correctly...
  3. you wouldn't happen to be uploading anything while running the test would you? I'm not even sure it's possible to get a download speed that fast with that slow of an upload...
  4. I haven't looked into this much, but I believe it picks the folder based on the request url
  5. he probably wants to use the link and say he got the score... just my guess. (p.s. if that's right, it's not gonna fool too many people)

  8. yea... I don't even use a firewall with my DWay because the proxy doesn't forward anything that wasn't established.
  9. I'm not sure your computer is being scanned... edit... yea, the DWay proxy is being scanned, not your computer
  10. I did find something semi-interesting... Simultaneous DWay and Testmy speed tests :::.. I think so it's like a giant conspiracy btw, I got 112kbps on the DWay download... DWay hasn't responded to my recent emails, I don't have the time to call at the moment... Just reformatted a couple weeks ago... also, speed is the same on other computers... New modem might help, I'm certainly not gonna pay for a new one though... repoint may help, but again with DWay support (I'm not gonna pay for a repoint either... I'd only do it if they pay) Dish is grounded, connected good, restarted modem several times... still bad
  11. actually... if you wanna get technical he started it today... in his time zone he started it at 12:07 am ahh, the technicalities... lol
  12. not belated for another hour
  13. the actual processor speed isn't 3700+ or anywhere near that...
  14. a knowledge base isn't the same as live customer support...

  16. Mine's usually a couple hours behind... a couple days on occasion
  17. I've tried tweaking, it doesn't help.. I think my modem may be crapping out (DW6000, SM5)

  19. if you can play it in windows media player, burn it as an audio cd and rip it with iTunes (I would recommend using a cd-rw)
