  1. My incredible is somewhat getting on my nerves lately. Seems to be slowing down alot and when running Pandora it doesn't seem to want to do much of anything else without a issue , but i dont really want to root it haha. have a good feeling id fuck something up even though it looks super easy.
  2. also just noticed an error. I think you mean Kb? I figured. Just thought id point it out just in case.

  4. Ah you did end up gettin one eh. nice
  5. Weird results. seems to be a fluctuation.
  6. Bandwidth is the amount.. Speed is speed. More bandwidth doesn't equal more speed... Just more data that speed can get you or send for you. Sounds to me like there is something interfering like they said. Either that or they did reduce your speed for one reason or another and dont want to say it.
  7. damn van, good to see you again. sorry to hear about the divorce man, that sucks... It happens every day and its sad to see , but shit changes with people & relationships... People get too complacent & comfortable than eventually bored.. I feel you man. Hope all goes well and good luck on the new girl!
  8. Thats insane lol. i wonder if that includes idlers.
  9. periodic drops to the single digits 98% of the time is not your hardware related. Its network congestion. Even with the best hardware, network congestion is a problem on your ISP's end. Not yours. Dont get me wrong, it could be something in your configuration over time bogging down, but i've ran my box's for 50 + days at a time ( which i would not recommended on a windows box ) and have never suffered speed drops. Altho i am suffering from a connection cut in half after running apex DC++ but thats a whole 'nother issue with windows max connections
  10. Alot of times you cannot choose the closest server on speedtest.net. If i choose Tampa, which is 50 miles away, or Miami, or ANY of the close servers ; i get a 1/4th of my speed. But if i choose Atlanta GA , 900 miles away, or Huston TX , or any of Texas for that matter, i get top speeds Go figure.
  11. I use many speed test sites. Testmy.net is by far the most " real time " results you are going to find. Other flash based speedtest sites , aka speedtest, net show your absolute best connection speed with a huge overhead buffer. That is considering NOONE around you is using the internet and you are the ONLY one online that day on your node lol.. If you want accurate, right now speed test results, i use testmy.net. I want to know my connection speeds in real life, not what they possibly can be in absolutely optimal conditions ( again due to the overhead) .

awesome song, sad sad children. Need to go outside and play..
  13. Right click on Internet Explorer and run it in administrator mode. Than go to this link. Follow the prompts than reboot. http://my.verizon.co...os/default.aspx http://my.verizon.com/micro/speedoptimizer/fios/default.aspx Worked wonders for me i was only getting 21 down and 8 up till i ran that. I'll run a test now to show you. :::.. xs1's Combined Test Results ..::: Download Connection is:: 31580 Kbps about 31.58 Mbps (tested with 35 MB) Download Speed is:: 3948 kB/s or 3.9 MB/s Upload Connection is:: 20335 Kbps about 20.3 Mbps (tested with 17.5 MB) Upload Speed is:: 2542 kB/s or 2.5 MB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Dallas, TX USA) Test Time:: 2011-05-05 19:42:33 GMT -7 Validation:: https://testmy.net/db/9iDLQVk.TH90qzx User Agent:: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/53
  14. England! lol ya that makes a HUGE difference ! Your speeds to USA are going to be greatly less. Take a look. My results to testmy.net from USA : My results to England (your prefered server) from USA : See the difference? the distance makes a HUGE factor.
  15. Posts Merged. As far as your results go , id say poor network routing. Definitely looks that way from your trace. Thats why i have about 15 different test site locations i test mine from

wow. Nice work D. Lots of good changes!
  17. I've disabled UAC a time or 2 for extended periods of time for one reason or another and never lost functionality of my gadgets.. Wasnt even aware this was an issue? Very cool edit otherwise
  18. Welcome to the forums!
  19. Technology = Lack of privacy. Its that simple. 99% of "cool apps' for our smart phones require " location data" to use the nifty features we all so love. Therefore, were always on the map.. or so to speak
  20. Now i'm not completely certain about bridging but transparent i'm assuming is the way to go to allow ; which is what where going for here. & I wouldn't worry too much about the phone being close to the jack. Only phone troubles I've seen is the older 2.4 ghz wireless messing with peoples WiFi speeds. if all else fails, you can call em up and have them send you another modem.
  21. Thats odd. As far as your connection goes it looks very good. Has to be something on your end like a firewall of some sorts. Do you have a firewall program? In the router settings see if anything in the firewall there may be blocking you. If nothing setup a DMZ host and see if that helps. This will also verify a faulty firewall. Edit: I would deff. check your firewall settings on both the pc and the router , because i cannot ping or trace you at all.
  22. Can you post a traceroute to testmy.net for us? A pathping as well. cmd > tracert testmy.net cmd > pathping testmy.net
