Good idea. Only problem is its not time related. It can happen as soon as 2 hours or as late as a day. And when im running 9/9 i can hop on the box directly next to me and get 32 / 21 Its something with this box / windows / nic card. This is my current load at the moment; I guarantee in a couple hours ill be back @ 9/9 and ill have to disable the NIC card and re-enable it again to get my full speeds.

Ok heres the problem im having. I've talked to Dlweis about this and another friend in the IT business over @ epbfi.com and i havnt come up with a solution. The question: Is this a windows 7 stack problem or a NIC card issue? The Problem: Because i have a whorish connection now i share. ALOT. I share files 99 % to my 1 % downloading. As you can see from my stats , im on a 25/25 connection. The problem is after sharing a large amount of data , or having a sh*t ton of connections hit me @ the same time, my speeds get cut in half. (see the current speedtest listed at the end of this post.) The only way(s) to remedy this situation is to either reboot my machine, which i hate doing cause it takes forever for this damn box to get going again ; or disable the NIC card , than re-enable it. Im having to do this sometimes every 2 hours if im home to do so. I'll show you what im talking about ; Heres my connection after sharing on DC++ & uTorrent for a littel bit Heres my general Connection tests: This is what happens NUMEROUS times a day till i disable the card than re-enable it. Dlewis suggested trying Full Duplex Mode on my card. Failed. Another friend over @epbfi told me to reinstall & try different card drivers, Failed. Same 'ole shite. I really do not know whats going on., if i dont share anything , my connection remains the same for days. No problems, but once i pass on alot of data, or have alot of connections hit me at once, im instantly cut to a fraction of the speed. Its not a testmy.net problem either cause ive also tested elsewhere. Same thing elsewhere. Any ideas? Now literally a minute after posting this im going to disable , than re-enable the NIC card and retest for you to show you. Ill edit this post. EDITTT: Here

Weird results. seems to be a fluctuation.

Bandwidth is the amount.. Speed is speed. More bandwidth doesn't equal more speed... Just more data that speed can get you or send for you. Sounds to me like there is something interfering like they said. Either that or they did reduce your speed for one reason or another and dont want to say it.

Steps, Sequence, and Router settings - Apple Airport

periodic drops to the single digits 98% of the time is not your hardware related. Its network congestion. Even with the best hardware, network congestion is a problem on your ISP's end. Not yours. Dont get me wrong, it could be something in your configuration over time bogging down, but i've ran my box's for 50 + days at a time ( which i would not recommended on a windows box ) and have never suffered speed drops. Altho i am suffering from a connection cut in half after running apex DC++ but thats a whole 'nother issue with windows max connections -
Why Do My Results Differ From Speedtest.net / Ookla Speed Tests?
xs1 replied to CA3LE's topic in General Discussion
Alot of times you cannot choose the closest server on speedtest.net. If i choose Tampa, which is 50 miles away, or Miami, or ANY of the close servers ; i get a 1/4th of my speed. But if i choose Atlanta GA , 900 miles away, or Huston TX , or any of Texas for that matter, i get top speeds Go figure. -
Why Do My Results Differ From Speedtest.net / Ookla Speed Tests?
xs1 replied to CA3LE's topic in General Discussion
I use many speed test sites. Testmy.net is by far the most " real time " results you are going to find. Other flash based speedtest sites , aka speedtest, net show your absolute best connection speed with a huge overhead buffer. That is considering NOONE around you is using the internet and you are the ONLY one online that day on your node lol.. If you want accurate, right now speed test results, i use testmy.net. I want to know my connection speeds in real life, not what they possibly can be in absolutely optimal conditions ( again due to the overhead) . -
awesome song, sad sad children. Need to go outside and play..

Right click on Internet Explorer and run it in administrator mode. Than go to this link. Follow the prompts than reboot. http://my.verizon.co...os/default.aspx http://my.verizon.com/micro/speedoptimizer/fios/default.aspx Worked wonders for me i was only getting 21 down and 8 up till i ran that. England! lol ya that makes a HUGE difference ! Your speeds to USA are going to be greatly less. Take a look. My results to testmy.net from USA : My results to England (your prefered server) from USA : See the difference? the distance makes a HUGE factor.

Posts Merged. As far as your results go , id say poor network routing. Definitely looks that way from your trace. Thats why i have about 15 different test site locations i test mine from

I've disabled UAC a time or 2 for extended periods of time for one reason or another and never lost functionality of my gadgets.. Wasnt even aware this was an issue? Very cool edit otherwise

Technology = Lack of privacy. Its that simple. 99% of "cool apps' for our smart phones require " location data" to use the nifty features we all so love. Therefore, were always on the map.. or so to speak
