Now i'm not completely certain about bridging but transparent i'm assuming is the way to go to allow ; which is what where going for here. & I wouldn't worry too much about the phone being close to the jack. Only phone troubles I've seen is the older 2.4 ghz wireless messing with peoples WiFi speeds. if all else fails, you can call em up and have them send you another modem.

Thats odd. As far as your connection goes it looks very good. Has to be something on your end like a firewall of some sorts. Do you have a firewall program? In the router settings see if anything in the firewall there may be blocking you. If nothing setup a DMZ host and see if that helps. This will also verify a faulty firewall. Edit: I would deff. check your firewall settings on both the pc and the router , because i cannot ping or trace you at all.

Can you post a traceroute to testmy.net for us? A pathping as well. cmd > tracert testmy.net cmd > pathping testmy.net

Rr Exteme 30/5 Slow Speeds To West Coast / Cincinnati, ohio

Gotta love the resume feature And dont always believe what they tell you about the node usage lol.. When i was up in iowa a month ago i fought with 'imoncomunications" my ISP up there who told me the same thing. " the node is barely used, theirs only 46 people currently assigned to that node". 8 technicians later, 3 new drop lines, 4 new modems, and 3 trouble tickets for the entire neighborhood area... finally a tier 3 technician told me that altho their were very few people on the node, their allotted bandwidth for the area was depleting. They sold more customers than they had bandwidth.... Funny part is , every day there were 3 or more " new install " trucks out signing more people up! lol. Finally i just switched. not saying that you/anyone should switch but network reliability "is not guaranteed" as they say and " speeds to anything out of our network" are also not guaranteed. They only make good on servers / routes within their network. Hense why they want you to do speedtests on test sites within their network -
lol IE9 is the first IE ive actually liked. Seems pretty stable on my end anyhow.
-
If you use their default server the speeds are just terrible. If you have it switch to the macromedia server the speeds are pretty decent , but the pings are crazy high lol.... ill stick with testmy.net +

Roadrunners been known for overselling their alloted node space. Bet you have much better speeds early morning. -
Speeds look better now? Especially coming from this, the "most inaccurate test sites there is." as you call it. Seems pretty good to me for a 18 meg connection.

Ive personally never had a box or laptop that responded well to the "sleep" or "hibernate" feature. Sleep works better than hibernate mind you , but after about a week of uptime it crashes / freezes the box. I've never used it much. kudos if it works for your mac , but on windows its terrible.
-
The sleep option is terrible anyhow. Locks up alot of computers. I do not recommend using the "sleep" feature at all.

I would certainly play it. & if you win big, i can use a couple bucks

Have you tried to directly upload a file to a friend, or mabey a ftp server to see what the "real life" speeds are ? mabey a crapload of photos to facebook or something? Try a large file to a free uploading site... just to get an idea of what your realtime speeds are.
-
Honestly I'm not sure thats a problem on your end... if the download is that good is say its something with your network. Have you tried the cablenut program in our guides section ?
-
daymn. thats really odd lol

Welcome tot he forums corna. looks like you could use some tweaking. You also have to remember that Testmy.net is located in the USA , so your results may be a bit slower.
-
Have you tried using another browser?
