xs1 replied to charleygoldberg's topic in General Discussion
Can you clarify what the issue is? -

Forums are kind of dated, I'll agree. Back in the day I used to be part of 5 or 6 forums religiously... Now a days no-one posts anymore. Maybe a live chat may be more beneficial? Multi-room live chat like the old AOL chat rooms back in the day lol. Social media has really become the #1 "outlet" for all forms of media really.. News, gossip, entertainment, retail.. Cant really re-invent the wheel, just have to go with the (current) flow to stay relevant.

We still here. just lurkin' ?

Well the issue with 4G as well as satellite type internet, is the latency can & will be erratic. Not really rec. for streaming. If your curious on your latency & stability of the connection check here https://testmy.net/latency?addr=dallas. You can also open a command prompt & try a traceroute to see it as well. www.fast.com is Netflix's speed test & latency site, also does pretty well.

Personally I've come to find many ISPs and even Cell providers, route data differently depending on the service. Speed tests are raw data. No "throttle" per say. Zoom, YouTube, twitter, tiktok, etc. "Streaming data" seemingly has vastly different results. I've noticed throughout my own research, that raw data, like speed tests will max the connection, than ill go to tiktok, & videos will buffer. This is more-so noticed in my cellular usage.... I have a gigabit connection here @ home so I really dont notice much slow down on regular cruising TBH. I would get a replacement router/ modem. Also wouldn't hurt to have your ISP check your splitters & line noise.

Oh you. you know just what to say ?

Now if we can only get a larger upload file... that's about a decade overdue.. ???

Gotta say I'm impressed with TMobile's 5g for the most part. It does still have its weird little spots where you have no svc, but I'd say 89% of the time it works pretty flawlessly. T-Mobile also doesn't like tiktok much because video is there struggle ? overall though, highly suggest.

although I dont understand the routing methods, (10 different routers?) the speeds to this server are pretty widespread.
