this happens to a buddy of mine as well, his dsl modem only does 10mbps, so it dropes everything down to 10mbps aswell, its just something that, that router does.
ostz, since its cable its shared so at nice more people are using the internet so it gets slowed down, there is really no way to stop taht from happning.
I said to do the slider at 512kbps because because that is what your adverstised speed is, but you can do it at a higher # i would try 1mbps and go from there,
Izzy welcome to the forum.
download seems a little high for comcast with boost. clear your cache and try this test http://www.testmy.net/tools/test/d_load.php?&st=st&tt=1&ta=1&top=000&out_src=20MB
welcome to the forum oistz.
you can try tweaking your connection, use tcp optmazer to start. you can get it here http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-11975 , move the slider to 512kbps, check "optimal settings: check "PPPoE" and make sure the network adapter is the correct one, apply and restart.
also try a little bit bigger test file clear your cache before you do teh test. http://www.testmy.net/tools/test/d_load.php?&st=st&tt=1&ta=1&top=000&out_src=3MB
there is no program to fix this, this is a common problem, because most people now encode video at like 29.43fps(i forget the actualy #) but he audio is still being encoded for 30fps, so over just a short period of time the audo and video gets out of synk.
hmm didnt know that, ive actually had my lcd monitor on at work displaying the same image for about 3 1/2 weeks with no burn-in, The CRT next to it had burn in.
the simple way is just spend 50 bucks and get a router, the real cheap way is add a nother network card in your main pc for each other computer, and use network bridge to shae the inernet connection to all of them.
if i remember correctly, the computer would see a desktop weather ap as activity when it does check for weather updates. if you were to turn that off, does it still take longer then the time you selected.
