  1. You're correct, there isn't; unless I haven't seen it.
  2. You can just do one in the morning around 8 or 9; I don't think it would matter too much.
  3. As more users get on your satellite, it probably goes down.
  4. There is no cap; it's just that no one downloads over that.
  5. Ok, you're on the AMC9. Can you take a speed test tomorrow morning around 6 AM? Also, did you just power-cycle/restart your modem?
  6. Are you joking? We don't have advertised speeds, they're just "up to" speeds.
  7. Welcome to the forums! In regards to what tm24ns58 asked, are you wireless or wired?
  8. It means a lot actually. I think there would be fewer people on at 1 AM in the morning than 9 PM at night, which would give you a little faster speeds. Why didn't you just take the test right after each other?
  9. I had the same problem, but my signal was around 35 during the day. A repoint fixed the problem for me, so obviously I didn't have the same problem as you. Maybe you can see about getting on a different satellite?
  10. Notice the time difference... 111kb/s at 9 PM, 113kb/s at 1 AM
  11. As many have said, you can't tweak a Direcway self-hosted modem.
  12. I haven't turned on the tv yet today, but I guess I'll find out.

  16. You're not going to be downloading anything at 165kb/s, that's what's wrong with them.
  17. What good would clicking the validation link do? I believe that you got that score, I just don't believe that it's accurate. 1 mbps / 123 kb/s is accurate for the 6000. Unless you have the small business package, you're not going to be seeing speeds of 1.5 mbps.
  18. That would be because of the speed bursts...
  19. And that's even a speed burst...
  20. It's not, unless he has a 4000. Run the test in Firefox a few times.
  21. You can't hook it up with your current contract?
  22. When you get FAP'd or lose connection because of weather, just get on dial-up.
  23. I heard it would be available for Business only.
  24. Not bad, have you tried force ranging? What's your rate code? To find out, type 192.168.0.1/fs/advanced/advanced.html in your browser and on the first page, look for "Rate code".
  25. Well, when the 7740 modem comes out, VOIP should work..
